Macaé, like many municipalities in Brazil that economically depend on the oil industry, is going through extreme difficulties due to the crisis and the aftermath of the Lava Jato operations. But the current mayor of the city, Dr. Aluízio Junior, made an official statement in a video that boosted the morale of the people of Macaé and puts the city back to the status of National Capital of Oil.

In the video, the mayor says that the new rounds of oil auctions planned for the second half of 2017 will heat up activities in the Campos Basin again, and guess what: Macaé is at the central point of this basin. Putting it simply, this place is going to explode with opportunities soon; after all, 40 years of economy in this sector cannot be discarded suddenly like that.

The event Brasil Offshore 2017 is just around the corner, and along with it, many business opportunities and major global companies will be present, closing numerous contracts and presenting many innovative technologies for exploration in our deposits.

Another point mentioned is the “golden news” of the week! The Porto do Barreto is in the implementation phase, with only a few legislative obstacles left to resolve. Aluízio was very clear, incisive, and categorical in stating that Tepor (Macaé Port Terminal) will happen one way or another, taking our Little Princess of the Atlantic to a new economic and social level. The goal is to maintain the economic health of the city for many more years to come.

There was much speculation about what the mayor was doing or not doing to try to get Macaé out of this situation, especially since he had not made any official statements, but now this agony has come to an end! Check out the video below:
