About the Búzios Field of the Pre-Salt of the Santos Basin
Currently, the Búzios Field, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, is the second largest producer in the country, behind only Tupi (formerly the Lula field). Altogether, the area produced 600,000 barrels/day of oil and 23.7 million m3/day of natural gas in September, through four platforms. The field is among Petrobras’ main investment focuses.
The final scope of the project includes 12 platforms, with at least four already in the contracting and construction phase, including the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, which will be the largest production unit on the Brazilian coast, with a capacity for 225,000 barrels/day of oil and 12 million m3/day of natural gas.
According to the ANP, Brazil produced a total of 2.9 million barrels/day of oil in the month, a 6% decrease compared to August, and 125.25 million m3/day of natural gas, a 5.9% decline. The total national production in September was 3.69 million BOE/day, a decrease of 6% compared to the previous month.
