The Manaus City Hall (AM) Will Soon Launch a New Public Competition for High School Candidates. The Municipal Guard Competition Will Have Hundreds of Vacancies and Salaries of R$ 3 Thousand.

A new public competition for high school will soon be held by the Manaus City Hall (AM) in Amazonas. The municipal guard competition already has an organizing bank defined. The chosen one for this occasion is the Brazilian Institute of Training and Qualification (IBFC), according to a document published in the official diary last Tuesday (14).

The next step of the Manaus City Hall for the Municipal Guard competition is the signing of the contract, expected to occur in the coming days. Only after this formality will it be possible to confirm the start date of the competition. Interested candidates for the position must have completed high school and can expect an initial salary of around R$ 3 thousand.

The last public competition for the Municipal Guard at the high school level in Manaus (AM) took place in 2012, offering 293 vacancies. At that time, Funcab Foundation was the organizing bank, and the objective test included 60 questions, divided into Portuguese language (20 questions, worth 0.20 points each), current events (20 questions, worth 0.15 points each), and mathematics (20 questions, also worth 0.15 points each).

For the Municipal Guard competition 2023, it is likely that the Physical Fitness Test (TAF) will occur, aimed at assessing candidates’ ability to support the physical and organic demands necessary for the position. There will be a minimum interval of 10 minutes between attempts in the tests, and a second chance will be allowed only if the candidate does not reach the minimum index on the first attempt.

Municipal Guard Competition: Job Duties

Those approved in the public competition for high school of the City Hall will be responsible for studying and knowing the city layout, public agencies, road systems, and hotels, permanently guarding public places and municipal properties, taking action when damage occurs, protecting and defending the population and its property in the event of a public calamity, guiding the public about any fact or circumstance that may bring harm or danger, treating people with civility, using force only when necessary to repel violence or enforce, within just limits, their authority.

They should also treat with care individuals suffering from mental disorders and habitual alcoholics, detaining them and presenting them to the competent authority when they become disruptive in public spaces, urgently requesting assistance from the relevant authorities using the quickest means, when circumstances demand, performing other duties assigned by law or regulatory act, and informing the competent authorities about the existence of minors wandering without assistance in their service area, as well as the elderly.
