After The President Of Bolivia Showed Interest In Brazilian Gas, It Was Now Vladimir Putin’s Turn To Sign Investment Agreements With The Bolivians In Bolivia And Brazil
The opening of the gas market in Brazil continues to attract the attention of entrepreneurs and governments from abroad. After Bolivia Showed Interest In Participating In The Bidding To Acquire 51% Of TBG, which will be offered by Petrobras, now the interest in investments came from Russia.
Last Thursday (07/11), Vladimir Putin and the President, Evo Morales of Bolivia, signed investment agreements in the area of natural gas.
One of the agreements between the two countries even involves the fertilizer plant UFN III, which Petrobras has not yet concluded the sale, due to delays from legal issues, but Bolivia, through its state company YPFB, signed an agreement with the Russian company Acron (possible buyer) to provide 2.2 million m³/day of natural gas for 20 years starting in 2023.

YPFB In Brazil
YPBF will be a partner in UFN III, with 12% of the plant and will have the right to increase its stake to 30%, further strengthening Bolivia’s intention to also enter the gas distribution in Brazil.
The Bolivian Minister of Hydrocarbons, Luis Alberto Sánchez, has already stated that he intends to acquire stakes and enter the capital of MSGás and MTGás, which distribute natural gas in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.
Business among the three countries is expected to progress after Petrobras announces the rules for the sale of stakes in natural gas distributors in the country.
Another notable deal closed by YPFB was in December of last year with the oil company Shell. The agreement was for the purchase of 4 million m³/day of natural gas until 2022 and 10 million m³/day of natural gas from 2023 onwards.
