First Electric Vehicle From Peugeot Arrives in the Brazilian Market This Year
Similar to other electric and plug-in hybrid vans, the electric vehicle named e-Expert from Peugeot was developed especially for urban users, fitting into the context of anti-pollution legislation and low emission zones, which are expected to arrive in the near future in Brazilian cities.
The e-Expert electric van is a sibling model to the Vauxhall Vivaro-e, Toyota Proace Electric, and Citroën e-Dispatch, and joins the smaller Partner and larger Boxer in Peugeot’s lineup of zero-emission commercial vehicles.
At first glance, the Peugeot van is almost a clone of its diesel sibling. Aside from the charging port on the front, the blue-toned emblem, and the unique grille, the electric van is visually identical. Inside, the instrument display has been adjusted to show things like energy flow and consumption, battery level, and a media panel detailing travel information and remaining battery range.
Peugeot Electric Van Achieves 330 km on a Single Charge
The version of Peugeot’s electric vehicle available in Europe comes in two variants. The first model of the electric van features a 50 kWh battery that delivers a range of 230 km. In the pricier version, the model delivers an amazing range of 330 km, thanks to its 75 kWh battery.
The medium-sized Peugeot e-Expert electric van offers the option of two battery sizes, three load lengths, two body styles, and a range of up to 339 km. Although it has yet to reach Brazil, the model is already on sale, with prices starting at £32,450, which is approximately R$242,261 at direct conversion.
Performance Mode Can Make Life Easier for Users
Buyers can optimize the van’s range by using the various driving modes. The Eco mode limits power for maximum mileage, while the Normal mode is recommended for daily use.
The final configuration is labeled Power and prioritizes performance “when carrying heavy loads.” Peugeot claims that the e-Expert electric vehicle can go from 0 to 100 km in 13.1 seconds (in Power mode) and has a top speed of 129 km/h. The van also uses an audible signal at speeds below 29 km/h to alert pedestrians to its presence at dusk.
If you’re looking for a medium van with the best possible payload capacity or fuel economy, it’s worth checking out the Peugeot Expert when it hits the Brazilian automotive market.
