IBGE Is Holding A New Public Competition Open. The Institution’s High School Competition Offers More Than 7,500 Positions Across Brazil.
On Tuesday (4th), the first two announcements of the new IBGE 2023 competition were published. The public competition of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics has opportunities for the filling of 7,548 temporary positions. This will be a high school-level competition for candidates from all over Brazil.

The temporary positions in the high school-level competition are for the position of research and mapping agent, which has 6,742 openings, and for collection and quality supervisor (806). Those interested in competing for any of the positions will need to have a complete high school education.
In the case of the supervisor, the candidate must have a provisional or definitive National Driver’s License (CNH), with at least category B. The research and mapping agent is responsible for monitoring the development of data collection from surveys and studies, focusing on information quality, controlling the production and quality of collection and survey activities, among others.

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the progress of data collection from surveys and studies with a focus on information quality, controlling the production and quality of collection and survey activities.
According to the announcement of the public competition for agents, approved candidates will be hired for a period of one year, which may be extended for up to three, receiving initial salaries of R$ 1,387.50. The supervisor will also have a one-year contract, which can be extended for up to three years; however, with an initial salary of R$ 3,100. In both positions, the approved candidates in the IBGE competition will receive food assistance, preschool assistance, transportation assistance, as well as the right to a 13th salary and proportional vacation. The opportunities for agents and supervisors are distributed across cities in all states of the country, as well as the Federal District.
Enrollment In The High School Public Competition Can Be Made Until July 19
Enrollment for the IBGE competition with temporary positions opened this Tuesday, through the IBFC website. Those interested in competing have until 11:00 PM on July 19 to register.
The fee will be R$ 42.20; however, those registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government and members of low-income families or bone marrow donors can request a fee exemption during the enrollment period.
As previously indicated by the institution, the selection processes will be aimed at people who were not hired in other selection processes governed by Law No. 8,745/1993 in the last two years. Candidates who have had a contract with IBGE must wait two years to be hired again, according to current laws.
IBGE Competition Exams Are Scheduled For September
Candidates in the IBGE competition will be assessed through objective tests, to be applied in all municipalities with open positions in both announcements.
The exams are scheduled to take place on September 17, in the morning and afternoon sessions, allowing candidates to compete for both positions with temporary openings. In both cases, the objective tests will consist of 60 questions as follows:
Supervisor
- Geography (14);
- Administrative Notions and Managerial Situations (14);
- Portuguese Language (14);
- Information Technology Basics (five);
- Ethics in Public Service (five);
- Mathematics and Logical Reasoning (eight).
Agent
- Portuguese Language (20);
- Geography (20);
- Mathematics and Logical Reasoning (15);
- Ethics in Public Service (five).
To be approved, it will be necessary to obtain 18 points in total and at least one point in each subject. After completing all the stages, the competition will conclude on October 23, initially valid for one year.
