Discover Three Used Cars From Toyota, Fiat, and Honda That Combine Spacious Trunks, Fuel Economy, and High Resale Value, Surprising Those Looking for Alternatives Beyond the Most Popular Models in the National Market.

In the landscape of used cars, many drivers are looking for models that combine three essential attributes: good trunk space, low fuel consumption, and excellent resale value.

Although the more traditional options occupy a large space on preference lists, some alternatives from Toyota, Fiat, and Honda have been gaining traction for offering exactly this trio of advantages, yet not ranking among the sales champions.

This selection highlights three cars that, while not among the most sought after, deserve attention for their cost-effectiveness, versatility, and market recognition.

The search for the ideal vehicle is often influenced by specific needs.

Whether for family use, for those working as ride-share drivers, or for those who value a reliable hatch, used cars from Toyota, Fiat, and Honda stand out for their combination of interior space, fuel economy, and appreciation at resale.

Next, discover three options that break the mold and offer real advantages for different consumer profiles.

Fiat Cronos: Generous Trunk and Economy Among Compact Sedans

Launched in 2018 and updated in 2022, the Fiat Cronos has established itself as one of the most versatile compact sedans in the Brazilian market.

While it shares many design elements with the Argo, the Cronos features more understated lines and a unique style that increasingly distances it from hatchbacks.

Its major differentiator is the trunk, with a capacity of 525 liters, one of the largest in the segment, comfortably meeting the needs of families and professionals who need to transport luggage or larger items on a daily basis.

In terms of mechanics, the model offers 1.0 three-cylinder and 1.3 four-cylinder engines, both flex-fuel.

The 1.3 Drive version, particularly recommended among used models, delivers up to 109 horsepower and 14.2 kgfm of torque, always coupled with a five-speed manual transmission, providing a good balance between performance and fuel consumption.

According to data from the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program, the average fuel consumption of the Fiat Cronos 1.3 is around 9.3 km/l in the city and 11.6 km/l on the highway with ethanol.

With gasoline, these numbers rise to 13.1 km/l in the city and 15.8 km/l on the highway.

Among the standard equipment for the 2022 lineup, the Cronos 1.3 Drive offers air conditioning, stability and traction controls, rear parking sensor, multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay mirroring, in addition to turn signal repeaters in the mirrors.

The market price for 2022 units starts at R$ 59,000, according to recent listings on specialized platforms.

In terms of resale, the Fiat sedan maintains interesting liquidity, especially due to its reputation for low maintenance costs and a wide network of dealerships in the country.

Toyota Yaris: Efficiency, Robustness, and Safety Among Japanese Hatchbacks

The Toyota Yaris is another example of a car that combines generous trunk space, fuel efficiency, and high resale value.

Although production in Brazil ceased in 2024, the Yaris remains a relevant alternative in the used market.

Its 1.5 flex four-cylinder engine, capable of delivering up to 110 horsepower and 14.9 kgfm of torque, is known for its durability and low incidence of mechanical problems, according to reports from owners and specialized workshops.

The automatic CVT transmission present in the latest versions offers smooth driving and contributes to reduced fuel consumption.

According to information from the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro), the automatic Yaris hatch records averages of 12.6 km/l in the city and 14.2 km/l on the highway with gasoline, being considered one of the most economical in its segment.

Furthermore, the trunk has a capacity of 310 liters, a figure that exceeds direct rivals like the Hyundai HB20 and Volkswagen Polo.

In the standard equipment package, the model stands out for offering six airbags, hill start assist, stability control, multimedia center, and an armrest for the driver.

Resale prices tend to be high, reflecting Toyota’s reputation for durability and after-sales service.

You can find 2024 Yaris XL units starting from R$ 89,900.

Regarding appreciation, recent data from the Foundation Institute of Economic Research (Fipe) indicates that the Yaris registers low average annual depreciation, making it a safe bet for those wishing to change cars after a few years of use.

Honda City: Space, Comfort, and Technology in a Premium Compact Sedan

Among Japanese models, the Honda City has always been recognized for its combination of spacious cabin, refined finish, and efficient engine.

The 2022 EXL version, available for prices starting from R$ 94,900, comes with a 1.5 flex engine with direct injection, capable of reaching 126 horsepower and 15.8 kgfm of torque.

The automatic CVT transmission with seven-speed simulation ensures comfortable driving, especially in urban areas.

In terms of interior space, the City stands out by offering one of the largest trunk volumes in its category, with 519 liters, in addition to good wheelbase, providing comfort for all passengers.

According to Inmetro, the average fuel consumption of the automatic City EXL reaches 12.3 km/l in the city and 14.5 km/l on the highway with gasoline.

The equipment list includes six airbags, digital air conditioning, leather seats, keyless entry, power mirrors, and multimedia center, making it an attractive package for those seeking safety and technology without sacrificing space.

As industry experts point out, the Honda City is among the most appreciated models at resale, also standing out for its robustness and low incidence of mechanical issues.

Used Cars With Good Trunk Space and Appreciation: Options Beyond the Obvious

Although they do not lead sales rankings, Fiat Cronos, Toyota Yaris, and Honda City offer differentiators that often go unnoticed by those looking for a reliable used car, with low consumption and easy resale.

Whether due to trunk size, energy efficiency, or high liquidity, these vehicles demonstrate that it’s possible to combine practicality, comfort, and economy in a single package.

It is also worth noting that, aside from technical aspects, all are backed by the credibility of brands recognized for efficient after-sales service and accessible maintenance.

Based on these criteria, the choice of a used car can be more strategic and economical than many might imagine.

Were you already aware of these models and their advantages, or do you consider any other used car more interesting for those who prioritize space, economy, and resale?
