The State University of Maranhão (UEMA), through its Center for Technologies for Education (UEMAnet), has opened registrations for the Special Education Improvement Course in the Perspective of Inclusive Education.
According to UEMA, there are over 4,000 spots available for teachers from the public basic education network, with no direct competition among candidates.
This initiative primarily aims to promote quality training, aligned with national inclusive education policies.

Course Structure and Workload
The course is divided into four modules, totaling 120 hours.

The classes will be taught in a Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), combining synchronous and asynchronous activities.
The offered modules are:
- Human Rights, Diversity, and Inclusive Education (30 hours);
- Human Development, Teaching, and Learning from the Perspective of Inclusive Education (30 hours);
- Curriculum, Technologies, and Inclusive Teaching Practices (30 hours);
- Inclusive Teaching Practices, Resources, and Materials in School (30 hours).
Each module addresses fundamental themes for building an inclusive and effective teaching practice.
Additionally, participants will have access to high-quality teaching materials and interactive activities that simulate real situations in the school environment.
Who Can Participate?
The course is aimed at teachers from the public basic education network, including those teaching in the early and final years of elementary school and in high school.
To register, it is necessary to be actively working in the public network and present the required documents for verification.

If there is a tie at the same time, minute, and second of registration, priority will be given to the older candidate, in accordance with current legislation.

The provisional results will be announced on January 30, 2025. After this date, candidates will have until February 7, 2025 to appeal, if necessary.
