The 1,760 vacancies for the technical courses are distributed across the ten campuses of IFMS in Aquidauana, Campo Grande, Corumbá, Coxim, Dourados, Jardim, Naviraí, Nova Andradina, Ponta Porã, and Três Lagoas, with classes starting in the first semester of 2025.
The public notice for the technical courses offers 11 options of integrated technical courses, all with a duration of three years: Administration, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Food, Systems Development, Construction, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Internet Technology, Mechanics, and Metallurgy.

Who Can Participate
Candidates for the vacancies in the free technical courses must have completed the 9th year of elementary school by the enrollment date at IFMS, scheduled for January 2025. Another requirement is that the candidate has a Cadastro de Pessoa Física (CPF) in their own name.
Half of the vacancies offered by IFMS are reserved for students who completed all years of elementary school in public schools. These vacancies will be divided between candidates with a household per capita income lower than one minimum wage and candidates from any income bracket. Within these groups, there are reserved spots for black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and disabled individuals.

According to Glaucia Lima, president of the organizing committee of the selection process and pedagogue at IFMS, all candidates will be classified initially by their score on the Selection Exam. The score will determine the final ranking.
“A general classification of candidates will be published, obtained by the exam score, observing the tie-breaking criteria when necessary. The call for enrollment will include the top 20 candidates in the overall ranking, regardless of the chosen quota, and the top candidates from each quota, according to the vacancy table,” explains Lima.
Test
The test will be held on October 20, in the ten municipalities where IFMS has campuses, lasting 4 hours. The Selection Exam consists of a written test with 30 questions in the areas of Portuguese Language (10), Mathematics (10), and General Knowledge (10).
The program content for the test can be consulted in Annex X of the opening notice of the selection process. On the day of the test, the candidate must bring an official identification document with a photo, a blue or black pen of clear tube, a pencil, and an eraser. Small snacks and a transparent, unlabeled bottle of water are allowed.
The final result of the Selection Exam 2025 is expected to be published on December 17, with enrollments in January and classes starting in March.
Registration for the Free Technical Courses of the Federal Institute
Registration must be completed on the Candidate Page of the Selection Center, between August 6 and September 26. Candidates who do not have internet access may go to the Relationship Center (Cerel) of any IFMS campus and request a computer to register. To do this, it is necessary to check the address and service hours of the campus.
The registration fee for the free technical courses is R$ 20 and must be paid by September 27 via PagTesouro, using Pix, credit card, or bank slip.
Candidates enrolled in the 9th year of public schools and/or who have the Cadastro Único for Social Programs (CadÚnico) may request an exemption from the registration fee. The request must be made by September 6, at the time of registration, and the supporting documents must be uploaded in the system, according to the instructions described in subitem 4.5.4 of the notice.
Candidates whose exemption request is denied must pay the registration fee by the deadline in order to take the test. For questions or further information about the notice, please contact processoseletivo@ifms.edu.br.
