At EFOMM, Officers are trained in two course options: Nautical and Machinery. Both in the nautical course and in the machinery course, students study at the School in a boarding regime for 3 years. The course will have two periods and will be developed over eight semesters, namely:

Academic Period: consisting of six semesters of academic classes in a boarding regime, with exclusive dedication of the student and structured in an annual serial system, divided into two semesters;

Internship Period: comprising two semesters onboard for the Nautical course and one semester onboard for the Machinery course, fulfilling supervised internship

Requirements

• Completed high school. Education must be proven at the time of enrollment in the training course.
• Be Brazilian (both genders), aged between 17 and 23 years on February 1, 2021;
• Not have been convicted by a finalized penal sentence;
• Be up to date with civil and military obligations (Art. 14, paragraph 1, item I of the Federal Constitution and Art. 2 of Law 4.375/64 – Military Service Law), the latter for male candidates;
• Not have been declared “permanently incapable” for Active Service in the Armed Forces or Auxiliary Forces or for Initial Military Service;
• Not be a former EFOMM student, not have been excluded for disciplinary reasons or for unfitness for the officer corps of any preparatory or training school of the Armed Forces or Auxiliaries, nor have been dismissed, for disciplinary reasons, from Active Service or Initial Military Service (SMI) of any military organization;
• Have a registration in the Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF);
• Have a valid government-issued identification document with a photo; and
• Meet the instructions set forth in the Notice.

Exams

Even with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Brazilian Navy confirmed the date for the written exams (objective and essay), which is the first stage of the contest, mandatory for all candidates

Merchant Navy EFOMM 2020 Contest Registration

Those interested in competing for one of the vacancies may register between June 15 and June 30, 2020, on the official Ciaga website to fill out the registration form. The registration fee will be R$65. The deadline for payment will be until July 1, at any agency.
