The Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) launched 330 free slots for the Specialization in Distance Education in Professional and Technological Education, with enrollment planned for the second semester of 2025.

Slots and Poles of IFRN
The 330 slots are distributed across six in-person support poles of the Natal-East Zone Campus: João Câmara, Luís Gomes, Mossoró, Natal – Tirol, Parelhas, and São Gonçalo do Amarante.
Each pole offers 55 slots, with 39 for open competition and, under IFRN’s affirmative action policy, 11 slots reserved for self-declared black, brown, or indigenous candidates, 2 for quilombolas, and 3 for persons with disabilities.
The public notice provides for a hetero-identification procedure to validate self-declarations.
Target Audience and Requirements
Applicants must hold a graduate diploma in any area.
The priority audience consists of teachers of Basic Education working in Elementary Education and High School in public networks.
Nonetheless, candidates from other areas can compete for open slots as long as they meet the documentation requirements.
Course Structure and Offer Format
Although training occurs at a distance, the pedagogical project includes meetings and activities that may occur in connected face-to-face format, using information and communication technologies, on dates planned by the coordination.
The course is offered by the Natal Advanced Campus – East Zone, in partnership with the Open University System of Brazil (UAB).
Classification Criteria
The classification considers the score of the Academic Curriculum, with a maximum score of 100 points.
Proven professional experience holds significant weight.
The public notice establishes 5 points per semester of work in the following contexts: acting in the initial and final years of Elementary Education in public schools (up to 30 points in each of the stages) and in Technical High School in public institutions (up to 30 points).
It also accounts for work in Technical High School in the private network, with a limit of 10 points.
In case of a tie, criteria such as priority for the elderly, higher total in public school experience items, and finally, greater age are applied.

Proof of experience must be made with institutional declarations, contracts, appointments, and terminations or equivalent documents that indicate the period worked.
