Enrollments for the Course Aim to Empower Basic Education Teachers in Inclusive Practices by January 2025!
The free extension course in Special Education in the Inclusive Perspective is now open for enrollment and can be completed by January 30, 2025.
This initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Education (MEC), in partnership with the Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), and the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ).
Course Objective: Professional Qualification for Educators
The main objective of this course is to develop the training of basic education teachers, enhancing their pedagogical practices to promote Inclusive Education.

The course is aligned with the goals of the new Living Without Limits plan for 2023 and meets the guidelines of the Brazilian Inclusion Law of 2015, which aims for continued training in the area of special education.

With a total workload of 120 hours and conducted in a virtual environment, the course will cover four fundamental thematic axes:
1st Human Rights, Diversity, and Inclusive Education
2nd Human Development, Teaching, and Learning in the Perspective of Inclusive Education
3rd Curriculum, Technologies, and Inclusive Pedagogical Practices
4th Practices, Resources, and Inclusive Pedagogical Materials in Schools
These axes were developed based on the legal frameworks of special education and scientific research that guides the inclusion of students with special needs in common education systems.
Course Modality and Target Audience for Special Education
The free course will be offered in a distance modality through the Virtual Environment of UFRRJ.
With a duration of three months, activities are expected to start in March 2025.
The target audience is basic education teachers, who will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in an inclusive environment.
