Best-Selling SUV In Europe Gaining Momentum To Become Even More Competitive. The New Duster, From Renault, Vehicle That Put Dacia On The Map Of SUVs, Is Finally Getting Its Third Generation.
The automotive landscape has never been more competitive, especially when it comes to SUVs. However, Renault seems determined to take the top spot on the global podium.
Following a glorious year for the Duster, which was the SUV best-selling in Europe in 2022, the brand announces major changes that promise to shake up the competition.
One of the significant updates is that the Duster will be the first vehicle from Dacia to be produced on a Renault-Nissan modular platform, the CMF, the same one already used in other models such as the new European Clio, Captur, and the new generation of the Nissan Sentra. For those who don’t know, in the 90s, Renault acquired a 51% stake in DACIA.

This elevates the Duster to a higher standard, making it a strong competitor against rivals such as the Volkswagen T-Cross, Ford Puma, and Hyundai Creta.
Cutting-Edge Technology In The New SUV
Based on the Bigster Concept Car, the new Duster comes with a design that completely breaks away from the previously known “basic” standard.
The technology will also be one of the strengths, with systems that make it a strong contender in an increasingly competitive market. Highlights include Full LED headlights and a gray trim on the bumper, which gives the car a more robust look.
Innovative Engine
If you’re someone who pays attention to what’s under the hood, get ready: Renault has prepared new engine options for this new generation. The model will feature a new 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection, reaching up to 110 horsepower.
Another option is the well-known 1.3 turbo flex, with power of up to 170 horsepower. The big surprise comes with the hybrid version, which will be equipped with a 1.2 Turbo gasoline engine and an additional 48V electric motor.
The interior does not disappoint and comes with leather finishes and quality materials, following the standards of Renault models sold in Europe.
The new Duster will offer a more complete Multimedia Center, with a 360º camera system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.
Safety First; What To Expect For Brazil?
In terms of safety, the new Duster comes well-equipped, with collision alert, autonomous emergency braking, and even adaptive cruise control with stop and go function.
Despite all the global expectations, Brazilians will have to wait a bit longer. The forecast is that the completely remodeled SUV will arrive here only at the end of 2024 or in 2025.
The Renault-Nissan range in Brazil will adopt the 1.0 turbo engine for its compact cars, which may extend the life of the current generation of the Duster here. That’s right, folks! The new Duster is on its way to bury the competition and become the king of SUVs not only in Europe but also globally.
