Best-selling SUV in Europe gaining momentum to become even more competitive. Renault's new Duster, the vehicle that put Dacia on the SUV map, is finally gaining its third generation.

The automobile scene has never been so fierce, especially when we talk about SUVs. However, Renault appears to be committed to reaching the top of the global podium.

Following a glorious year for the Duster, which was the SUV best-selling in Europe in 2022, the brand announces major changes that promise to shake up the competition.

One of the big news is that the Duster will be the Dacia's first vehicle to be produced on a Renault-Nissan modular platform, the CMF, the same one that is already used in other models such as the new European Clio, Captur and the new generation of the Nissan Sentra. For those who don't know, in the 90s Renault acquired 51% of DACIA's capital.

This puts the Duster on a high level, making it a strong competitor to rivals like the Volkswagen T-Cross, Ford Puma e Hyundai creta.

Technology will also be one of its strong points, with systems that make it a strong competitor in an increasingly competitive market. Among the highlights are the Full LED headlights and the gray appliqué on the bumper, which gives the car a more robust touch.

Innovative engine

If you're one of those who keeps an eye on what's under the hood, get ready: the Renault has prepared unprecedented engine options for this new generation. The model will feature a new 1.0 three-cylinder turbo with direct fuel injection, reaching up to 110 horsepower.

Another option is the already known 1.3 turbo flex, with power of up to 170 horsepower. The big surprise is the hybrid version, which will be equipped with a 1.2 Turbo gasoline engine and another 48V electric motor.

The interior leaves nothing to be desired and comes with leather finishes and quality materials, following the standards of Renault models sold in Europe.

The new Duster will offer a more complete Multimedia Center, with a 360º camera system, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.

Safety first; What to expect in Brazil?

On the security side, the new Duster arrives well equipped, with collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and even adaptive cruise control with stop and go function.

Despite all the global expectations, Brazilians will have to wait a little longer. The prediction is that the Completely remodeled SUV arrive here only at the end of 2024 or 2025.

The range of Renault-Nissan in Brazil will adopt the 1.0 turbo engine for its compact cars, which could extend the life of the current generation of Duster here. That's it, folks! The new Duster is coming with everything to bury the competition and be the king of the SUVs not just in Europe, but globally.
