Report Collects Items Forgotten by Travelers
Unclaimed Baggage, the only authorized reseller of lost luggage in The United States, has released its third Annual Found Items Report. The survey collects items found in lost or abandoned luggage by passengers over the past year.
The document presents a detailed inventory of objects recovered during the period. Among the records are common items forgotten in bags, but also unusual items that caught attention during the sorting and cataloging of the luggage contents.

Among the most surprising finds in lost luggage is a fully assembled robotic unit. The equipment contained articulated joints, electric motors, internal wiring, and various control components integrated into the system.
Another item described in the report is a motorized knee prosthesis made of a metal frame, integrated motor, and electronic controls. According to the document, the model was still in online testing when it was found.
The report states that the condition of the equipment indicated possible early-stage use or clinical testing. The discovery drew attention due to the level of technical complexity present within the analyzed luggage.
Historic Meteorite and Valuable Items Appear in Lost Luggage
Among the curious items recorded in the survey is a fragment of a meteorite that struck Earth in 1576. Also found was a complete set of 10-carat diamond grills and a one-ounce bar of pure gold produced by the Perth Mint, in Australia.
Other unusual objects include a pair of fire poi used in circus performances, a matching set of samurai swords, a complete beekeeper suit, gold-plated golf clubs, and a didgeridoo made from teak wood.
These items were located in different pieces of luggage recovered by the company. The report highlights the variety and historical or material value of some of these objects found during the sorting process.
Curious Items Include Taxidermy Animals and Old Military Objects
The list also includes finds deemed unusual by the report, such as taxidermied deer foam, a giant taxidermy goose, and a fake skeleton. Also found were a frog-shaped bag and another in the shape of an armadillo.
Among the historical or peculiar objects are a U.S. Army bayonet predating World War I, a box containing 12 sardines, a long bone specimen, and a suitcase full of rat poison.
Despite the unusual discoveries, the report states that the most common items found in lost luggage during 2025 continue to be clothes, jewelry, cell phones, shoes, electronic device accessories, headphones, coats, tablets, and books.
