Starnav and SAAM Signed a US$ 198 Million Agreement for the Transaction of the New 21 Tugboats for the Multinational Fleet
The value of the transaction for the acquisition of Starnav’s assets was agreed at US$ 198 million, less the outstanding debt on the assets which will be deducted at closing.
This negotiation is one of the largest in SAAM Towage’s history and is part of the company’s strategy to lead the tugboat industry in Brazil.
With the addition of the new tugboats, SAAM Towage Brazil will have one of the largest and most efficient fleets in the country, with 69 vessels operating in 19 ports in the national market.
This represents an increase of over 40% in the size of the company’s fleet in Brazil, further strengthening its prominent position in the market.
SAAM Towage is recognized for the quality of its services, providing assistance in over 90 ports across the Americas and performing more than 140,000 maneuvers for 40,000 vessels each year.
The company has a fleet of over 210 tugboats operating in 14 countries, primarily in Central and South America, as well as on the West Coast of Canada.
