The State of Santa Catarina Has the Second Highest Cost of Civil Construction in Brazil. See Value per Square Meter.

Santa Catarina stood out in the national civil construction scene in March, but not exactly for a positive reason. According to data from IBGE, the state recorded the second highest cost per square meter in the country: R$ 2,057.33.

The survey is part of Sinapi (National System of Research on Costs and Indices of Civil Construction) and considers the prices of materials and labor.

Only Acre Surpasses Santa Catarina in the Ranking

The only state with a higher cost than Santa Catarina was Acre, with an average value of R$ 2,069.71 per square meter. In third place is Rondônia, with R$ 1,999.90.

This increase in cost puts SC in the spotlight for those who work or invest in civil construction. The state also had the third highest monthly increase, with a variation of 0.89% in March.

Impact on the Sector and on the Pocket

With the cost of the square meter above R$ 2,000, building in Santa Catarina has become more expensive. This high cost directly impacts budgets for works, renovations, and also the final price of properties.

The national cost of civil construction rose to R$ 1,810.25, with R$ 1,043.45 allocated to materials and R$ 766.80 to labor.
