The last few years have been essential for working on SLB's launch proposals in the energy market. Schlumberger now focuses on decarbonizing the sector and technological innovation as its main pillars for the future.

The multinational energy services company Schlumberger announced the launch of its new integrated brand, SLB, last Friday (28/10). The main pillars of the new company for the global market include the decarbonization of the energy sector, innovation in the oil segment and the enhanced digitalization of its operations in the provision of services. The change went beyond a visual identity and now permeates all operations of the company in the global market.

With the aim of reaching new audiences and reformulating its entire positioning strategy in the global market, Schlumberger announced last week the launch of its new integrated brand, SLB.

It will be a company focused on boosting technological development with sustainability, including decarbonization projects in the energy market. 

For this, there was a complete overhaul of the brand's visual identity, including the logo, in order to adapt to SLB's new commitments for the segment. 

CEO Olivier Le Peuch, explained that “Today we face a major balance challenge, providing reliable, affordable and cost-competitive energy to meet growing demand, while rapidly decarbonizing for a sustainable future. This dual challenge requires a balance between energy sustainability, affordability and security. It requires a balance of innovation and decarbonization in the oil and gas industry, as well as clean energy solutions.”

He concluded by stating that the visual identity of the new Schlumberger-derived brand reinforces SLB's commitment to move faster and further to facilitate the energy needs of today's world and pave the way for the energy transition.

The challenge seems quite difficult and somewhat daring to be placed as one of the company's pillars, but the brand intends to develop the energy market with an environmental commitment. 

It still builds on nearly a century of research and Schlumberger investments in technology and innovation for the segment, including decarbonization projects.

In addition to announcing its new brand integrated into the energy market, Schlumberger gave more details about the four pillars that govern the company's operational policy. 

The first of these are investments in new energy systems. SLB will continue to support research and exploration projects in the areas of carbon, hydrogen, geothermal and geoenergy solutions, energy storage and critical minerals. 

In addition, the company also has as one of its pillars the pursuit of industrial decarbonization. To that end, it has already announced plans to develop a digital sustainability platform that will deliver sustainability solutions to various industrial sectors.

Digitization at scale is the company's third business pillar, following decarbonization. The Schlumberger derivative announced the launch of the Corporate Data Solution program to support the digitalization of its operations. 

Finally, SLB seeks to contribute to innovation projects in the international oil and gas sector. Its “Transition Technologies” portfolio and its SEES methane elimination business are key initiatives under this pillar. 

In this way, the company expects to make strong contributions to the global energy market.
