Seagems Joins The UN Global Compact And Incorporates Ten Principles Into Its Operations, Strengthening Sustainability And Social Responsibility Practices.
Seagems has just announced its association with the UN Global Compact, integrating the Ten Fundamental Principles into its strategic planning and daily operations. With this adherence, the company reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, consolidating its position as one of the leaders in the underwater engineering sector in Brazil.
Participation in the UN Global Compact is not just a formality, but rather a reflection of Seagems’ dedication to following ethical and sustainable practices. In this context, adherence to the initiative represents a concrete commitment to promoting human rights, dignified labor standards, and environmental preservation. This decision drives the cultural and operational transformation of the company, highlighting it in the contemporary corporate landscape.
The Importance Of The UN Global Compact
By mobilizing the global business community, the UN Global Compact encourages the adoption and promotion of Ten universally accepted Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Through this official adherence, Seagems reaffirms its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives, aligning itself with global best practices of sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Ambitious Goals For Sustainable Development
‘We are extremely pleased with this new achievement and committed to integrating the Ten Principles into the strategy, culture, and daily operations of our company, as well as engaging in cooperative projects that promote the broad development goals of the UN, especially the sustainable development goals,’ states Rogerio Salbego, CEO of the company. By being part of the Global Compact, Seagems commits to report annually on the progress on proposed themes, consistently driving its internal sustainability practices. The company seeks not only to comply with norms and regulations but also to inspire and positively influence the sector and the entire value chain it interacts with.
Seagems Good Initiative
To address social and environmental issues, Seagems has an internal initiative called Seagems Good, a permanent corporate governance body. The group consists of volunteer employees who dedicate part of their time to developing internal awareness and donation campaigns, as well as monitoring incentive law projects supported by the company. This idea arose from the company’s constant challenge to generate internal and external stimulus for social transformation, maintaining impartiality and transparency in management.
Green Treasure Sustainability Certification
Seagems was the first Brazilian company in the oil and gas sector to receive the Green Treasure Sustainability Seal, a solution from Grupo BMV that certifies adherence to ESG practices. With this certification, the company offset the environmental footprint of its offices in Rio de Janeiro, Caxias, and Rio das Ostras, becoming NET-Positive, an approach that gives back more to society and the environment than it takes away.
Waste Management
The company also has a rigorous collection system, waste management and disposal, meeting the requirements of the Waste Management Program (PGRS) and the Health Services Waste Management Program (PGRSS), according to the current legislation.
The UN Global Compact
The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, bringing together over 15,000 companies and 3,800 non-business signatories in more than 160 countries. This UN Global Compact encourages companies to align their operations and strategies with the Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, as well as promotes strategic actions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By joining the Global Compact, companies commit to transparency, accountability, and sustainability in all their activities, contributing to a fairer and more sustainable future.
