ETE ÁS Waste Treatment of the Action Shop Group Records Highest Volume of Trucks with Waste from the Construction Site
Rio – Since the end of 2015, the municipalities of Leste Fluminense have been waiting for the resumption of works on the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex (Comperj) in Itaboraí. The Severe Economic Crisis in the State and the Halt of Works has led to numerous losses, and all market signals regarding the activities of the complex generate much expectation. While large contracts for the construction site are not happening, at least the industrial and sanitary effluent treatment sector is beginning to feel the changes in the scenario.
At the beginning of 2019, the ÁS Waste Treatment Station of the Action Shop group, located just 20 km from the main entrance of Comperj, registered a higher volume in the daily movement of trucks transporting waste from the construction works of the enterprise. “We have observed a resurgence in demand for the station to treat industrial waste, sewage, and oily water. This is an important signal for the region that the volume of business is increasing. The trend is to return to the numbers seen before the halt of the works.” says Liliane Prohmann, communications director of the Action Shop Group.

Russia spent $5 billion and 28 years modernizing a nuclear warship that had been inactive since 1997. The Admiral Nakhimov returned to the sea in August 2025 as the heaviest surface combat ship in the world, with 176 missile launchers, including hypersonic Zircon missiles.
The ETE ÁS Waste Treatment, located in Papucaia, Cachoeiras de Macacu, has its history linked to that of Comperj. February marked four years of operation, showing that it is possible to combine development and sustainability. Its project is a reference in innovation by utilizing a lagoon aeration system, achieving 95% efficiency in treating up to 700 cubic meters per day of industrial and sanitary effluents, a volume sufficient to serve a population of 12,000 people. The strict monitoring of water quality also allows for fish farming in the stabilization pond and the use of reclaimed water for irrigating organic fruit trees, a pioneering project in Brazil.
Quality and development that the Action Shop Group expects to continue providing to the population of Leste Fluminense. “We have been in Comperj since 2008, and we believe that the worst moment has already passed. We are prepared to treat all liquid industrial effluents and the waste generated from construction sites. We invest in Comperj and want to create more jobs in the region.” concludes Liliane Prohmann with optimism.
