The Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the President of Petrobras Met Today (18), Announcing Billion-Dollar Investments in the Campos Basin and Comperj
The President of Petrobras was emphatic this Monday (18) in a meeting with the then Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, about the resumption of investments in several important segments of the industry. Among them are the injection of US$ 20 billion in mature fields in the Campos Basin over 5 years and the definitive recovery of Comperj, located in the city of Itaboraí, both in RJ.
“I received the President of Petrobras, and I made myself available for the resumption of the Comperj works. I heard very important news from them for the revitalization of the mature fields there in the Macaé area and the state-owned company’s investments. This means more jobs, more income, and a better future for our state,” said Witzel.

Castelo Branco emphasized that the new service portfolio of Petrobras will bring Macaé and the entire state of RJ to a new and important step in the economy, at least for the next 5 years, considering the current situation.
“Petrobras will invest in the state of Rio de Janeiro, over the next five years, US$ 57.9 billion, of which US$ 20 billion will be allocated to the revitalization of the Campos Basin fields. We believe that the state will experience a significant boost in its economy, thanks to the investments from the oil industry,” said Castelo Branco.
The Mayor of Macaé, Dr. Aluizio, praised the event: “When we started the campaign “Less Royalties, More Jobs,” and “Campos Basin, it is necessary to invest,” we were certain that the mature fields would sustain the activities and jobs in the city and region” (Via Twitter). Watch the video below:
