Customers Complain About Increase in Free Shipping Costs
The new increase in free shipping costs has left many customers dissatisfied on social media. Users who were already complaining about the R$ 30 value criticized even more that now they must spend at least R$ 40 to avoid shipping fees.
As is often the case, the social network Twitter was one of the main platforms used to receive criticism from those who enjoy shopping at Shopee. The company justified, in a statement, that it is developing an inclusive ecosystem that makes buying and selling accessible to all.
In addition to supporting Brazilian sellers to benefit from the expansion of the digital economy, Shopee offers various benefits for consumers to save on online purchases.
The company also informed that, in addition to ongoing offers and coupons, special campaigns will continue to be held every month, such as the Shopee Days, which are usually double date events. The next promotion of this kind will take place on October 10, on a Monday.
Shopee Announces Economic Measures
After taking what are considered drastic actions to curb expenses, Forrest Li, founder of Sea, the company that manages Shopee, sent an email to employees worldwide to explain the moment the company is going through.
The CEO of the company is focusing on reducing operational costs, concerned about economic uncertainties. The company, which entered Brazil with aggressive marketing, very low prices, and zero fees, has taken its first hit in Brazil.
Despite the announcement, the executive claims that users can feel secure, given that the company has a solid foundation, something that puts it in a better position of safety.
