The Geafol Sensformer™, developed by Siemens, is able to provide solutions for better energy efficiency and data reliability, in addition to optimizing maintenance actions
With the purpose of helping energy companies and the most varied sectors towards the digital age, Siemens Energy launches a new idea of equipment named Geafol Sensformer™. In addition to acting in places that require greater attention in energy distribution and transmission networks, the resource is capable of converting the transformer into a digital data center, allowing its user/client to optimize its operations based on data obtained by the equipment.
- Remember that if you are an engineer, Siemens you need your resume too.
Manufactured at the Jundiaí branch, in the state of São Paulo, the transformer brings more safety and exempts an operator from being physically on site, unless necessary. Data is also stored more intelligently, being transmitted through an Internet of Things (IoT) gateway, remaining in the cloud and allowing for more efficient reporting.
“The Geafol Sensformer™ was born connected and aligned with the digitalization trends we are seeing in the market, as it transmits location, temperature and current in real time with maximum reliability, enabling more assertive decision-making and better asset management”, says Vagner Lucca Junior, Distribution Transformer Operations Manager at Siemens Energy do Brasil.

Sectors where this new technology from Siemens can be applied
The properties of Geafol Sensformer™ are applicable in several sectors of the Brazilian market. The device can be used in sugar and ethanol plants, oil platforms, airports, industry, hospitals, shopping malls, energy concessionaires, wind farms, photovoltaic plants, among others.
About 94% of the equipment's composition can be recycled after its use cycle, so it does not represent a danger to the environment.
