The Giant Chinese Submarine, With 45 Meters, Without A Sail And X-Shaped Rudders, Surprises Experts And Raises Questions About The Country’s Military Plans.

Check this out: recent satellite images revealed a giant submarine from China, and the mystery surrounding it only grows. This submarine was spotted at the Guangzhou Shipyard and, according to experts, it could be the largest in the world. And that’s not all: its innovative design raises suspicions about what its true role might be in China’s military strategy.

What Is Known About The Giant Chinese Submarine?

The submarine was seen in a floating dock in southern China, a site known for the construction of invasion barges. According to naval expert HI Sutton, this vessel is about 148 feet (approximately 45 meters) long and 15 feet (4.5 meters) wide. Unlike other Chinese submarines, such as the Type 041 nuclear, this model is smaller, and as far as is known, does not have nuclear propulsion.

Another curious point is that it does not resemble the “Olympic” submarine from China, which appeared in 2022. Analysts believe that this new version may have been inspired by a sail-less prototype that was launched at the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai in 2019.

Ultramodern Design And Secret Functionality

What stands out about this submarine is its innovative design, without a sail and with X-shaped rudders, which improves stability and maneuverability. In addition, there is strong evidence that it is an unmanned submarine, possibly the largest in the world of its kind, raising suspicions about its true military purpose.

The giant Chinese submarine has a look that is totally out of the ordinary. Without a sail and with X-shaped rudders, it seems like it came out of a science fiction movie. This type of design helps to improve stability and maneuverability, indicating that the vessel may have been designed for secret operations in shallow waters or even stealth patrol missions.

But there is one detail that stands out: the images do not show torpedo tubes or apparent sonar systems, which makes many suspect that it is still in the testing phase. Even so, some bet that it could be used for attacking enemy ships and submarines, supporting special forces, or even for deep-sea exploration.

Unmanned Submarine And Its Military Role

Reports suggest that this submarine could be an Extra Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (XLUUV), something that China has heavily invested in over the past few years. If that is the case, it could be the largest autonomous submarine in the world, surpassing the size of the US Navy’s Orca XLUUV by up to eight times.

Now, the question remains: if it has no crew, why does it need to be so large? Expert HI Sutton believes that the size may be related to the need to carry a large arsenal or specific equipment for underwater combat.
