Mild Hybrid Engine Ensures Efficiency and Economy

The Peugeot 2008 Hybrid 2026 is equipped with a 1.0 turbo flex three-cylinder engine with direct injection, developed by Fiat Powertrain. It delivers 125 hp with gasoline and 130 hp with ethanol, generating 20.4 kgfm of torque.
The system works alongside the mild hybrid MHEV system, which utilizes a 48V auxiliary electric motor coupled to the alternator. This configuration improves performance during acceleration, increases torque, and reduces consumption by up to 10%, according to Inmetro data (2025).
During driving, the electric motor acts during acceleration and assists the combustion engine. The compact 0.6 kWh battery, installed under the driver’s seat, is automatically recharged during braking and deceleration.
Thanks to this technology, the 2008 Hybrid is exempt from the São Paulo vehicle rotation and can receive an IPVA discount in states such as Minas Gerais and Paraná, according to updated legislation in October 2025.
Balanced Performance and Fuel Consumption
The hybrid SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10 seconds, maintaining solid performance. It reaches a maximum speed of 195 km/h, demonstrating efficiency even with a compact engine.
According to Inmetro, fuel consumption is 9.0 km/l in the city and 9.6 km/l on the highway with ethanol. With gasoline, it reaches 13.0 km/l in the city and 13.7 km/l on the highway.
With a 47-liter tank, the model offers range of 451 km with ethanol and 644 km with gasoline. Thus, the 2008 Hybrid confirms its energy efficiency and competitiveness among hybrid SUVs sold in the country.
