Alert in the fuel market: Analysts and a former director of ANP warn that oil prices may worsen in the coming months due to global instability.
As a result, half of the residents of Fazenda Rio Grande, in Paraná, were left without water, Sanepar reported.
Transpetro – Petrobras’ subsidiary – reported yesterday (16) that it continues with contingency work on the pipeline that was the target of a criminal theft act.
“The pipeline violation by the criminals caused the leak of ethanol and gasoline which was promptly contained by the company, with no victims or injuries”, Petrobras informed in a statement.
According to Petrobras’ statement, there is no compromise of fuel supply in the market due to the crime. The company is carrying out containment of the fuel that leaked from the pipeline and repairing the installations. Operations on the pipeline remain suspended.
Petrobras also informs that Transpetro is conducting constant monitoring of soil and water quality in the region’s ponds and wells.
Cleanup and recovery activities in Paraná are being carried out continuously by teams mobilized to address the occurrence, using containment barriers, in addition to 10 vacuum trucks and six tank trailers, to collect the spilled products.
“All work is being carried out in partnership with the environmental agency, Civil Defense, and Fire Department”, adds the state-owned company.
Petrobras stated that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company is taking extra precautions to preserve the health of its workers who are in the field for the repair actions.
Transpetro is collaborating with security agencies in investigations to curb these criminal actions and has deepened coordination with various external agencies to, in an integrated manner, assist in combating such activities, in addition to constantly working on the development of monitoring technologies.
