This System Promises to Be an Ecological and Efficient Alternative for the Future of Construction, Using Recycled Materials and Offering Both Environmental and Economic Advantages.
The construction industry is one of the main sources of pollution, with concrete being a material that has a high carbon footprint. In response to this problem, PLAEX, a Canadian company, developed a system called PLAEX Brick&Panel™.
This system promises to be an ecological and efficient alternative for the future of construction, using recycled materials and offering both environmental and economic advantages.
Like a Construction Game
The concept of PLAEX is defined as the world’s first completely interlocking landscaping system. PLAEX blocks and panels are easily assembled from all sides, greatly simplifying landscaping projects. This system is ideal for retaining walls, pathway edges, and other outdoor structures. Although it has not yet obtained Canadian ASTM certification, it is expected to achieve this in 2025.

The government opens the vault and deposits R$ 2.6 billion for the construction of Brazil’s first underwater tunnel, with a length of 1.5 km, 870 m under the sea, a total project cost of R$ 6.8 billion, and a 30-year concession.

Only 46 meters remain for Brazil and Paraguay to connect via the Bioceanic Route bridge, the project that will link the Atlantic to the Pacific by land and change the logistical map of four countries in South America.
-
The bridge that holds the largest stone railway arch in the world: built over 100 years ago, destroyed in the war, and rebuilt to continue operating to this day, it still carries trains over the Soča River in Slovenia.

Italian giant of 130 tons arrives at the Senna Tower construction site and accelerates foundations: Mite CFA 3436 drills up to 50 m, 750 hp engine, investment of R$ 20 million, unique in Latin America.
More Solid and Economical
PLAEX blocks have numerous advantages:
- Moisture Resistance: They have a very low absorption rate of 0.37%, making them highly resistant to moisture.
- Durability: They are between 400% and 1,250% stronger than concrete or brick, significantly reducing the risk of breakage or damage.
- Recycled Materials: They are composed of 90% recycled materials, contributing to waste reduction.
- CO2 Reduction: Their use can decrease CO2 emissions by 138% compared to traditional construction solutions.
- Cost Savings: Savings of 5% to 30% on the total project cost can be achieved. Additionally, the return on investment (ROI) is estimated between 200% and 400%, meaning it is possible to recover two to four times the initial investment.
Fast and Efficient Construction
The construction method with PLAEX is designed to be three times faster than traditional methods, allowing builds to be completed up to 80% faster than with conventional materials like concrete. PLAEX blocks and panels easily integrate with existing structures and traditional finishing methods, such as drywall.
PLAEX offers an innovative and sustainable construction solution, with significant environmental and financial benefits. According to Dustin Bowers, founder of PLAEX Building Solutions, this technology can contribute to a better world and planet. For more information about this revolutionary concept, visit plaex.ca.
