The brand confirmed that the new generation of the Renault Logan, and also of its sibling Stepway, will reach the market in 2026, promising to retire not just a car, but an entire era of aspirated engines that equipped the popular sedan. The main change is under the hood: the end of the traditional 1.6 aspirated engine and the debut of the modern and powerful 1.0 TCe Turbo Flex engine.

This transformation is the realization of the “Renaulution” plan in the country, a global strategy that shifts the focus from volume to a search for greater value and profitability. With a new platform, more technology, and a much higher safety standard, Renault prepares to level up and face the leaders of the compact segment more aggressively.

The pillar of Renault’s transformation in Brazil is an investment of R$ 2 billion in its factory in São José dos Pinhais (PR). This capital enabled the implementation of the global CMF-B platform, the same already used in the recently launched Kardian. It replaces the old B0 base, which, although robust, was almost 20 years old and no longer met modern safety and technology requirements.

This strategic change marks the end of an era. The Renault Logan, which was produced for 17 years in the country, has been officially discontinued, as has the Sandero. These models, focused on space and low cost, no longer fit the brand’s new strategy, which aims to focus on more sophisticated and profitable cars, capable of competing in the upper segments of the market.

The transmission in the more expensive versions will likely be a dual-clutch six-speed, focused on a more dynamic driving experience, but manual transmission versions are expected for the entry-level configurations.

What to Expect from the New Generation of the Renault Logan in Crash Tests

Perhaps the most significant advance for the consumer will be in terms of safety. The old platform of the Logan/Sandero duo received a zero-star rating in the latest Latin NCAP tests, a classification that exposed its structural lag.

The new generation of the Renault Logan and Stepway will not be cheap. The leap in technology and safety will come at a cost.
