The company Naked Energy has developed a solar energy technology that can retire solar panels. The device is a hybrid solar panel that can heat water and generate energy simultaneously.
With the popularization of the solar fountain all over the world in recent years, several innovations are emerging, in this way, the solar energy market just got a new technology. It is a hybrid solar panel, capable of generating energy and heat for water heating at the same time, and can be up to 4x more efficient compared to conventional solar panels.
Discover Naked Energy's VirtuPVT
Despite using solar energy as a primary source of energy, the photovoltaic system is not connected with the solar water heating system.
They are different applications and the operating principles are totally different as well as the materials used. But have you ever thought about the possibility of inventing a hybrid solar panel? That's what a company decided to do, developing an innovative technology that unites the two systems, generating energy and heating water for your home.

The Naked Energy, which received the name of vacuum solar tube, or VirtuPVT, has collector tubes that have two layers of glass with a vacuum between them, functioning as a thermos, generating the advantage of reducing thermal losses to the atmosphere, generating greater efficiency, even in colder climates. In addition, the vacuum of the hybrid solar panel protects the solar panels as they are cooled by the solar absorber, maintaining a uniform temperature.
New technology generates 40% performance compared to traditional solar panels
Among the advantages generated by the new technology in the solar energy sector is the expansion of electrical performance and the useful life of photovoltaic cells. The tubes have a versatile and easy-to-install design and each one has its own mounting system, reducing installation time and material used.
With a height of only 25 cm, the new hybrid solar panel significantly reduces the impacts generated by the wind, compared to conventional installations. To ensure optimal performance, the solar energy tubes are angled and precisely spaced to prevent self-shading.
Another highlight of the technology is its reflector to capture the solar energy that would be lost, thus increasing the performance that would be lost by 40%, bringing a yield of 15% in annual averages.
Return on investment can be much faster
A hybrid solar panel it has a length of 2,16 cm x 30 cm wide, weighing about 20 kg, with an electrical power of 70W in each tube. The connection is made through MC4 connectors, resembling common solar energy panels.
Naked's goal is to generate more energy in a smaller space, considering that solar tubes unite solar energy and thermal energy in a single product.
According to the company, the new technology becomes 4x more efficient than solar panels common, generating more energy per square meter than any other innovation, being perfect for buildings that demand a lot of hot water and heat such as hotels, hospitals, among others. Heating water using thermal energy saves energy, increasing the return on investment by 50% per square meter.
