Brazil has some sectors of the economy that continue to generate many job openings even with the crisis and the pandemic

The pandemic took the world by surprise, causing the global GDP to shrink by 4,2% in 2020. Brazil saw its TAX ID No decrease by 4,1% last year. This situation made job vacancies extremely rare, increasing unemployment throughout the national territory. However, some sectors of the economy, such as civil construction, e-commerce, IT and hospital health, continued to hire even with the pandemic.

Jobs in IT and E-commerce

UOL published a long article showing some sectors of the economy. One example is businessman Ricardo Zanlorenzi, who saw his company in the IT sector ended 2020 on a high and started 2021 with 17 jobs filled. Nexcore, in the technology area, is forecast to grow by 2021% in 35.

"The IT sector had a 20% increase in hiring in the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year”, highlighted José Tortato, business manager at the National Jobs Bank. In this sector, the most offered job openings were for computer technicians, system analysts and developers.

With a 75% increase in trade electronics in 2020, some other sectors were also pulled. One example is the logistics sector, which has seen an increase in job openings for drivers, stockists, couriers, etc.

More construction jobs

With more people working from their homes, the civil construction sector was also positively affected: “Many people discovered that the house was not so well prepared for the home office, and sought to renovate the internal environments”, highlighted Tortato. Thus, job vacancies for bricklayers, servants, inspectors and safety technicians also remained high.

Hospital health job vacancies

Another sector that had and still has a lot of job openings was hospital health. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced hospitals to be built and thousands of new professionals hired to work on the front lines of the pandemic. Proof of this is that there was a 17% increase in hiring in 2021 compared to the same period last year.
