Applications for the Position at Thyssenkrupp Shipyard Are Open Until July 31 for On-Site Work in Itajaí (SC). The Position Is Permanent and Part of the #AvanteTamandaré Program, Which Drives the Brazilian Naval Industry.

If you are skilled with cables, panels, and imagine yourself working on the electrical systems of a warship, perhaps the next step in your career is anchored in Santa Catarina. Thyssenkrupp Shipyard is hiring for a Naval Electrician (Commissioning) in Itajaí, with applications open until July 31, 2025. The opportunity is permanent and is part of the ambitious #AvanteTamandaré Program, focused on the construction of frigates for the Brazilian Navy.

But don’t be fooled: although the focus is electrical, the challenge is comprehensive — it requires technical agility, keen observation, and willingness to work behind the scenes of one of the most modern projects in the national shipbuilding industry.

What Does This Electrician Do?

The professional will work on the front lines of commissioning naval electrical systems, participating from the assembly and testing of equipment to the final integration with other onboard systems. Among the activities:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams;
  • Verifying the assembly of sensors and panels;
  • Cable testing, automation, and instrumentation systems;
  • Monitoring motor and embedded systems tests;
  • Supporting the integration testing of systems.

Yes, it’s the kind of position where you see the vessel being born. Literally.

Who Can Join This?

To apply, a complete high school education is required, along with technical knowledge of industrial electricity or electrical systems of vessels, in addition to familiarity with shipyard installations. Having up-to-date NR10 certification and experience with automation or naval instrumentation is a plus.

The position is also open to people with disabilities (PwD), reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusion and diversity in the naval sector.

What Thyssenkrupp Offers

The German company is not just about tradition — it also offers a benefits package worthy of an international project:

  • Food allowance and holiday bonus;
  • Cafeteria with breakfast and lunch on site;
  • Medical (Unimed) and dental (Uniodonto) assistance, both extended to dependents;
  • Life insurance;
  • Quality of life program with workplace fitness;
  • Annual bonus and partnerships with discounts on services and courses.

The shipyard promotes constant training and offers real chances for growth, as the #AvanteTamandaré project still has a long way to go — or better yet, a lot of sea.
