Tim and Faro Energy Have Partnership That Foresees Investments of R$ 100 Million in Solar Power Plant Projects
Tim has established a partnership with Faro Energy, which will make available to the company 15 solar plants aimed at supplying its network structure by the end of the first semester of 2021. The solar power plants are located in the Federal District and in five other states. The capacity will be 25 MWp, capable of powering about 970 antennas in the Midwest and Northeast.
The Faro Energy will be responsible for the investment, construction, operation, and maintenance of the solar power plants. Ten plants are already up and running, serving units in Paraíba, Ceará, Pernambuco, and Tocantins.
The remaining five, located in Rio Grande do Norte and the Federal District, are already in an advanced state of construction with the expectation of starting to operate by June. It is expected that the plants will produce more than 45 GWh per year combined, which would be sufficient for 20,000 homes.

Faro Energy’s Investments Are Gigantic
The investments are not cheap. Pedro Mateus, CEO of Faro Energy, emphasized that the company invested R$ 100 million in the partnership with TIM. The company aims for them to lead a market that is constantly changing, requiring businesses to always be attentive to new technologies.
“We are investing over R$ 100 million in our partnership with TIM. We know the importance of sustainable energy generation projects for the country and want to lead, together with the operator, a market that is constantly seeking new solutions and opportunities,” he said.

In addition to helping the environment with the generation of clean energy, the implementation of these solar power generation plants also greatly benefits the local economy. Cities that host the plants have seen job opportunities from Faro Energy’s investments.
Bruno Gentil highlights that renewable energy generation projects are fundamental and part of the commitment to better ESG practices. Currently, TIM already has 34 solar power plants in operation. There is an expectation that the company will reach 60 plants by next year.
It is expected that when the 15 new solar power plants are fully operational, the expectation is that around 15,000 tons of CO2 emissions will be avoided per year.
