Wind Farms Receive Approval from Aneel to Start Operations in the States of Bahia, Ceará and Piauí, Establishing the Northeast as a Leader in Renewable Energy
It is no surprise that the Northeast is the national leader in renewable energy! Aneel, the National Electric Energy Agency, has authorized the operation of many wind farms in the states of Bahia, Ceará, and Piauí. The commercial operation began on April 7th, and the authorizations were published in the Official Diary of the Union. In Piauí, the agency approved the generating units UG1 to UG15, each with 3.15 MW, of the wind farm EOL Ventos de Santa Ângela 17, located in the municipality of Lagoa do Barro do Piauí. Lastly, the UG1 to UG10, each with 3 MW, in the municipality of Queimada Nova were also approved.
Blade-less Turbines Can Revolutionize Wind Farms and Change the World of Renewable Energy
Vortex Bladeless, a tech start-up based in Spain, is developing wind turbines that do not require blades (or propellers). One of the goals is to use these turbines in urban and residential spaces, where the impact of ecological parks would be too large. Similar to a “giant straw,” according to its creators, it aims to change the world of renewable energy.
Blade-less (or propeller-less) turbines could be the future of wind energy and renewable energy. Vortex Bladeless claims that the turbine poses no danger to bird migration patterns or wildlife, especially when used in urban environments. Additionally, it states that the noise produced would be at a frequency that is practically undetectable to humans.
New Blade Factory from GE Renewable Contributes to the Development of the World’s Largest Offshore Wind Farm
The construction of a new offshore wind blade factory by GE Renewable Energy will contribute to the development of the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank, located in the United Kingdom.
Being built in the northwest of England in a small town called Teesside, GE’s new wind blade factory aims to produce for wind turbines of 107 meters long used in GE’s Haliade-X, a production that will be managed by LM Wind Power.
The new wind blade factory, built by GE, is expected to begin operations in 2023, contributing to the creation of approximately 750 direct jobs in renewable energy and around 1500 indirect jobs in its implementation area.
