The Federal Institute of Education, Science And Technology of Ceará (IFCE), Itapipoca Campus, has opened registrations for free extension courses, allowing access to valuable knowledge at no cost.

According to IFCE itself, the registrations for the Simplified Selection Process focus on two courses: Basic Computer Science and Logic And Programming Language.

In total, 60 spots will be offered for the internal and external community. These courses not only equip participants but also open doors to new opportunities in the job market.

Details About The Offered Courses

Basic Computer Science (Evening)

This course aims to train adults who wish to understand and master the fundamental concepts of computer science, from handling equipment to performing tasks in the digital environment.

With a workload of 80 hours, the course will take place between January 14 and April 11, 2025, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 6:15 PM to 9:45 PM.

The program content is extensive and includes:

Conceptual Introduction: students will learn about computer concepts, hardware, software, peripherals, binary number system, processor, and memory.

Everyday Practices: there will be activities teaching the use of mouse and keyboard, web navigation, online searches, downloads, file management, emails, creating text documents, slide presentations, and spreadsheets.

Computational Issues: topics such as viruses, malware, phishing, social engineering, free software, and the veracity of information on the internet will be addressed.

Logic And Programming Language

Aimed at young people and adults interested in programming, this course offers 60 hours of practical and theoretical teaching. It will be conducted on Saturdays, from January 18 to May 10, 2025, with morning (7:30 AM to 11:45 AM) and afternoon (1:15 PM to 5:30 PM) class options.

The main topics include:

Problem Solving: using programming logic to create interactive digital games and animations.
Error Identification: techniques to identify and correct failures in solutions involving programming logic.
Testing And Executing Algorithms: practical activities involving the development and analysis of algorithms.

Selection Process

The official notice No. 5/2024, released by IFCE, establishes the criteria for registration and selection.

Interested parties must register between January 2 and 9, 2025, sending the completed form and the necessary documentation to the email cpe.itapipoca@ifce.edu.br.

The spots are distributed as follows:

Basic Computer Science: 15 external spots and 5 internal.
Logic And Programming Language: 40 external spots.

If there are vacant spots, they may be redistributed among different audiences. The selection will be made in order of registration, and in case of a tie, specific criteria will be applied.

Results And Next Steps

The results will be announced on January 10, 2025, on the official IFCE Itapipoca Campus website.

Alternate candidates will be called if there are withdrawals or unfilled spots, ensuring that all opportunities are taken advantage of.
