A Beloved Toyota Has Just Had Its Launch Confirmed For 2025: Meet The New Hilux Pickup That Promises 200 km Of Range And Came To Annihilate Ford Ranger

Toyota has confirmed the launch of the unprecedented electric version of the Hilux, which will be produced in Thailand starting in 2025, according to an announcement made by Toyota’s Vice President in Asia, Pras Ganesh, in an interview with the Reuters news agency.

The unprecedented electric version of the Toyota Hilux pickup, set to begin production next year, was confirmed by Pras Ganesh, the brand’s Vice President in Asia, in an interview with Reuters. Production will take place in Thailand, from where it can be exported to other markets, including Brazil.

Toyota Hilux Electric Promises 200 km With A Full Charge

In March, Toyota stated that the new electric Hilux would be tested in tourist areas of Thailand. The country is one of the largest global markets for pickups and houses the production of models such as the Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, Ford Ranger (the Raptor version sold in Brazil is manufactured there), and Mitsubishi L200, among others.

Although there are still not many specifications revealed about the new Toyota Hilux electric, it is expected that the pickup will have a range of about 200 km on a full charge. One concern for the brand is the total weight of the vehicle. “The greater the range, the larger the battery we need to equip the pickup with, which makes the vehicle heavier and reduces its payload capacity,” said Pras Ganesh.

There are also uncertainties regarding the new generation of the Toyota Hilux. Initially slated for 2024, the launch has been postponed to 2025 or 2026 and will include hybrid and electric versions. This means that the new electric Hilux may be based on the next generation of the pickup.

Electric Hilux May Be Equipped With The Engine From The Toyota BZ4x SUV

If it uses the base of the current generation, the future electric Hilux is expected to incorporate elements from the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV concept, presented in 2022. Changes include an aerodynamic front grille and body color, as well as a battery with a capacity of up to 230 km of range.

Currently, it is speculated that the electric Hilux could be equipped with the engine from the Toyota BZ4x SUV, which offers 200 hp of power, and 4×4 traction. The launch of the new Toyota Hilux electric in the Thai market is expected in mid-2025. Before then, the Hilux sold in Brazil is expected to soon receive the mild hybrid system, already available in some Asian and European countries.

Finally, The Yaris Cross Is Registered In Brazil: The New Cheapest Brazilian Mini SUV Has A Confirmed Launch And Promises To Annihilate Creta And Renegade

Yaris Cross has finally been registered and will mark Toyota’s debut in compact SUVs in Brazil, shaking up the segment and annihilating rivals Creta and Renegade. Without a doubt, the launch of Toyota Yaris Cross is set to stand out as one of the most popular cars in Brazil. This highly anticipated mini SUV promises to shake up the national automotive market with its various versions and configurations.

After confirmations and sightings in tests on Brazilian roads, the design of Toyota’s SUV has been officially registered by the Japanese automaker at INPI – the National Institute of Industrial Property.

Yaris Cross Will Be The Cheapest Car From Toyota In Brazil And Promises To Sell Like Hotcakes

The Toyota Yaris Cross will be the cheapest car from the brand in Brazilian territory, positioned below the Corolla Cross. This mini SUV will be the third vehicle from the brand to feature hybrid-flex technology in Brazil, distinguishing itself from the Corolla line.

With a promising future in the country, the Toyota Yaris Cross is set to be a true sales success and will be cheaper than its competitors Hyundai Creta, Jeep Renegade, and Honda WR-V.

I would love to know if you have ever owned a Hilux pickup, currently own one, or are considering acquiring a Toyota. Share your experience with the brand in the comments section. Don’t forget to leave 5 stars and activate CPG notifications to stay updated on all automotive news. Until next time!
