With The Second Trailer Fully Captured On A Standard PlayStation 5, GTA VI Impresses With Its Visuals And Raises Questions About What To Expect On The PS5 Pro And PC Versions

Rockstar Games surprised the gamer community by releasing the second trailer for GTA 6, even after announcing a delay for the game until May 26, 2026. The video drew attention not only for the revealed plot but especially for the graphical quality it delivers — and the most impressive part: everything was captured directly on a standard PS5.

The new trailer, almost three minutes long, was released just days after the company confirmed the delay of the launch.

Instead of frustrating fans even more, the strategy seems to have worked in the opposite direction: it reignited enthusiasm.

The visual quality shown in the video is catching the attention even of the most skeptical.

According to Rockstar, the material was fully recorded on a conventional PS5.

This is not a boosted version like the anticipated PS5 Pro, nor a rendering in a development environment.

It’s what players can expect when running the game at home, on the current model of Sony’s console.

What The Fans Thought About GTA 6

The reveal brought a mix of surprise and excitement. The expectation was that Rockstar would save this type of material closer to the launch.

But the studio chose to release the trailer now, and the impact was immediate.

The public’s response on social media was mostly positive, with thousands of comments praising the realism of the scenes and the level of detail in the environment.

A PS5 In The Trailer

Some segments of the trailer caught even more attention. On a table, one can see what appears to be a DualSense controller from a PS5.

Near the television, there’s a large white console with blue light strips — a subtle yet clear representation of the PlayStation 5 itself.

It’s the kind of humor and visual reference that Rockstar loves to insert into its games.

What’s most impressive is to think that this entire visual was captured without any help from additional resources, such as high-level ray tracing via PC or specific hardware optimizations.

This led many fans to wonder: if the game looks like this on the base PS5, how will it be on a PS5 Pro or on a next-generation gaming PC?

YouTube Video

The question is valid. Sony has yet to officially reveal the Pro model of the PlayStation 5, but speculation about the console’s existence has been circulating for months.

If it launches before or alongside GTA VI, the game’s graphical potential could be even higher.

In the world of PCs, the expectation is that the computer version will bring more customization options, mods, and superior visual fidelity — as tends to happen with Rockstar titles.

Despite this, the developer has not officially mentioned a PC version yet. For now, GTA VI is confirmed only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. But tradition indicates that the PC release should occur, even if at a later date.

What To Expect From The Game

Rockstar’s choice to show the game running on the PS5 was a smart move. Instead of using artificially rendered trailers or powerful development machines, the studio chose to prove, with real images, what the audience can expect. And the result seems to have worked.

While the new release date — set for May 26, 2026 — may seem distant, the trailer served to keep fans engaged.

More than that: it raised the expectation of what can still be revealed. If what we saw was done on a standard PS5, Rockstar may just be beginning to showcase what this game is truly capable of.
