Transpetro named this Thursday (06/27) at the Atlântico Sul Shipyard (EAS) in Pernambuco, the last of the five aframaxes ordered by the company. With a length of 249 meters, a beam of 43 meters, and a capacity of 114 thousand tons of deadweight (DWT), the ship Portinari was built for oil transport and is heading to Salvador (BA) for its first fueling.
The name of the vessel honors the famous painter Candido Portinari, one of the main Brazilian artists of the 20th century, author of works such as “The First Mass in Brazil,” “Saint Francis of Assisi,” and “War and Peace.” The first stop of the new ship will be in Salvador (BA) for refueling. The other four aframaxes (Castro Alves, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Olavo Bilac, and Garrincha) are already in operation.
