From Digital Security to Spanish: Discover Free Courses at Unifesp and Boost Your Learning!

The Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) is open for enrollment for over 20 free courses in different areas, offering a unique opportunity for those who want to expand their knowledge, whether online or in-person. And there’s more: another 18 courses will open vacancies soon!

Free Courses at Unifesp: Accessible and Quality Knowledge

Unifesp, recognized for its academic excellence, is not limited to undergraduate courses spread across its seven campuses in the state of São Paulo. The university also offers a wide variety of free courses aimed at different audiences, serving everyone from beginners to professionals seeking updates in their fields.

The courses are promoted through the Extension Information System (SIEX), which organizes the activities offered by each campus. Among the options, there are introductory language classes, such as Spanish, to workshops on mental health and combating social inequalities. All of this with the quality guaranteed by one of Brazil’s best public institutions.

Diversity and Learning Opportunities

The free courses at Unifesp cover various fields of knowledge, and some of them are already accepting enrollments. Here are five highlights:

Digital Security for Seniors

This course teaches protection tools against cyber scams and strategies to promote work on social media, as well as video and image editing. The classes are offered at the Diadema campus, with priority for individuals over 60 years old. Enrollments are open until January 23.

Social Inequality: A Historical, Economic, and Political Overview

With 30 hours of content, this course takes place from February 17 to 21, at the Osasco campus. The selection of 20 participants will be carried out by the Academic Center of Economics at Unifesp. Enrollments are open until February 18.

School Education: Class Workshop

Aimed at basic education teachers, the course discusses alternatives for the challenges in the classroom. Offered in a hybrid format (online and in-person), classes start in February at the SP School of Theater, in downtown São Paulo.

Drug Education and Harm Reduction

With 40 hours of content, this course addresses the neuroscience of adolescent behavior and strategies to combat drug use in schools. Online classes on Tuesday mornings, with enrollments open starting January 30.

Next Stop: Latin America!

Ideal for those who want to learn basic Spanish for travel and delve into the culture of Latin American countries. The course is taught by undergraduate students in Spanish language from the Guarulhos campus, with online classes on Saturdays. Although enrollments are closed, it is possible to join the waiting list.

How the Selection Process Works

Most courses require prior enrollment, made directly on the SIEX page of Unifesp. Some courses have specific selection processes, such as curriculum analysis or profile assessments, while others proceed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The duration and workload vary according to the course, and many of them offer certification at the end, a valuable differential for the job market.
