The Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) has approximately 2,000 vacancies available in free online specialization courses. Those who are approved will start their studies this year. The opportunities are for two completely online courses, namely: Tutoring in Education and Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching – 1,000 vacancies for each specialization.

The free courses at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul are intended for individuals with a completed degree in a course recognized by the MEC, in fields related to the subjects offered. Applications can be made until September 15 of this year. It is estimated that the classes will begin in November.
The offering of free courses will be remote and asynchronous on the AVA UFMS platform. In each subject, students must meet the prerequisites of the learning path, access the content, and complete evaluations and activities. Upon fulfilling the credits, the student must carry out a final course project, the guidelines of which are defined in the Course Pedagogical Project.

Important Details About the Online Courses Offered by UFMS
The Specialization Course in Tutoring in Distance Education focuses on preparing professionals for the professional exercise of tutoring, based on the mediation of online learning, taking into account theoretical, technical, technological, pedagogical, and contextual aspects that involve the processes of teaching and learning in online environments.
The Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching course aims to expand and enhance knowledge in the field of language or linguistics teaching and learning through studies, discussions, and the articulation of contemporary theories and methodological trends to the demands of various educational contexts.

Applications can be made until September 15 through the UFMS website. The preliminary results of the accepted applications will be published on October 2, and from October 4 to 6, there will be a period for appeals regarding denied applications.
On the 9th, the results of the appeals against the denied applications will be announced. On the 16th, the final results will be released, with the enrollment period from October 18 to 27. The free courses at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul are scheduled to start on November 1.
Students with a minimum attendance of 75% in each subject, approval in all subjects, and in the final project will be entitled to the Course Completion Certificate along with the respective academic transcript, issued in accordance with regulations.
Attendance in the free courses will be recorded through the completion of asynchronous activities on the AVA UFMS platform. For the completion certificate to be issued, a one-time fee of currently R$ 50 will be charged at the end of the course. The fee amount is subject to adjustments throughout the course.
