Learn Everything About the Honda HR-V EXL 2016
Comfort and Space: Two Highlight Points
One of the major assets of the used Honda HR-V is the comfort offered to its occupants. The EXL version features leather seats, good leg and head support, and an interior well thought out for long trips.
In addition, the generous interior space — combined with the “Magic Seat” system in the rear seats — allows for adjusting the seating according to needs, increasing versatility in transporting large loads.
The trunk, in turn, offers about 437 liters, which is quite competitive for a compact SUV.
Mechanical Reliability: Why the Honda HR-V 2016 Is Still Valued
The Honda’s reputation for reliability is strongly reflected in the used HR-V EXL 2016.
Users point out that maintenance is relatively predictable, with moderate costs for an SUV, and there is a network of workshops familiar with the model’s components.

However, an important point of attention is the timing belt tensioner, which may show premature wear — and if it breaks, it compromises the alternator, leaving the car without battery recharge.
Engine, Performance, and Consumption: Balance Between Performance and Economy
The 1.8 i-VTEC flex engine of the HR-V EXL 2016 generates about 140 hp (ethanol) or 139 hp (gasoline) and delivers torque in the range of 17.4 kgfm, according to the data from the original technical sheet.
With the CVT transmission, the design prioritizes comfort and economy. The driving experience becomes smoother, without the abrupt gear changes of a traditional transmission.
According to analyses, this setup performs well in both urban and highway use, maintaining competitive fuel consumption for the vehicle’s size.
Aspects to Be Observed: Points of Attention in the Used HR-V
Despite being a great option, the used Honda HR-V is not free from problems reported by its owners.
The belt tensioner mentioned earlier may require replacement before reaching 40,000 km in some cases.
There are also reports of delays in parts replacement, which may be troublesome during larger maintenance jobs.

Another detail is the electronic parking brake, which has failed in some units even with low mileage.
Additionally, paint issues have been observed by some owners, such as peeling paint and oxidation spots on relatively new vehicles.
Price of the Honda HR-V 2016 in the Used Market
In the used car market, the HR-V EXL 2016 can show a quite variable price range, influenced by mileage, overall condition, and region.
According to the Fipe Table of November 2025, the price of the Honda HR-V EXL 2016 is R$ 85,118.00.
Meanwhile, resale websites like Kavak show similar units for prices around R$ 90,000, demonstrating that there is demand and liquidity for this used car.
Competition: How the HR-V Stands Among Used SUVs
The used HR-V EXL 2016 competes with other compact SUVs that also offer space and comfort, such as the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Nissan Kicks.
But what sets the HR-V apart is precisely its reputation for durability and predictable maintenance — something that many used car buyers take into account when deciding.
Why It Is Worth Considering a Used HR-V EXL 2016 in 2025
For those looking for a reliable used vehicle with good finish, interior space, and balanced performance, the used Honda HR-V emerges as a very attractive option.
Its maintenance tends to be predictable, and the Honda network in Brazil makes it easier to replace parts and provide assistance.
Moreover, the comfort and modern design help make this model a lasting car, ideal for both families and those who use the vehicle daily.
The used Honda HR-V EXL 2016 maintains its prominence in the used car market by offering a rare balance between reliability, comfort, and versatility.

Despite some considerations such as wear on specific parts and possible delays in replacement, it remains a safe and solid choice for those looking to invest in a compact SUV without sacrificing quality and durability.
