The Volkswagen Voyage 2015 Stands Out in the Used Car Market for Its Performance, Space and Affordable Maintenance. Learn More Here!

Even after more than two years since the end of production, the Volkswagen Voyage still maintains a strong presence in the used car market, attracting drivers from all over Brazil looking for mechanical reliability, generous trunk space, and affordable maintenance.

The model, produced by the German automaker Volkswagen, has gone through different phases since its launch in 1981 until its definitive farewell in 2022, leaving an important legacy in the compact sedan segment.

The History of the Volkswagen Voyage: From Debut to Triumphant Return

The Volkswagen Voyage established its space over the decades, especially for sharing the platform and robust engines of the well-known Gol.

Initially launched as a sedan alternative for families needing more trunk space, the car became a symbol of practicality in the national market.

However, it also faced strong competitors and changes in consumer profiles, factors that directly influenced its trajectory.

The Volkswagen Voyage debuted in 1981, derived from the first generation of the Gol, and quickly became a sales success. However, in 1996, it was discontinued, leaving its fans orphaned.

It took 12 long years until, in 2008, the sedan returned to the market with a new look and the same reliable mechanical base of the hatch.

The comeback occurred in the so-called third generation of the Gol, with 1.0 and 1.6 engines and the PQ24 platform.

Over the years, it received aesthetic and mechanical improvements, such as the 2013 redesign, which featured a front inspired by the Fox, and the adoption of the 1.0 three-cylinder engine in 2016.

Versions and Evolutions Over the Years

The Volkswagen Voyage went through different configurations and name changes in its versions.

In 2015, for example, the brand adopted names like Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline, in addition to the top-of-the-line Evidence version.

The latter offered distinctive finishes, more comfort items, and options that elevated the car’s level within the segment.

In 2018, a configuration with a 1.6 16V engine and a six-speed automatic transmission emerged, but low demand kept it in the catalog for a short time.

With the arrival of compact SUVs and more modern sedans, the space for the Volkswagen Voyage began to shrink.

In 2019, the lineup offered only one version, with a front inspired by the Gol Track and engines 1.0 or 1.6.

In 2021, only the options with the 1.0 engine remained on sale, primarily catering to fleet owners and rental companies. At the end of 2022, Volkswagen permanently ended production, marking the end of an era.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Volkswagen Voyage

Among the most remembered qualities of the Volkswagen Voyage is the generous trunk with 480 liters, ideal for families and trips.

The model also gained a reputation for simple and inexpensive maintenance, with parts easy to find on the market.

On the other hand, the interior space has always been a point of criticism. With a 2.46-meter wheelbase, the car offers a good driving position for the driver and front passenger, but limited leg and knee space, especially in the rear seat.

Special Edition Selection

In 2013, Volkswagen launched the special edition Selection to celebrate the Confederations Cup.

The Volkswagen Voyage received details in green and yellow, number 10 printed, CBF emblems, and seats with a finish reminiscent of a soccer ball.

The success was immediate, but the series was also marked by the contrast between the Brazilian title in 2013 and the historic 7-1 defeat in the 2014 World Cup.

Volkswagen Voyage Tip: 2015 Evidence

The Volkswagen Voyage 2015, in the Evidence 1.6 8V version, is remembered for its balanced performance.

The engine delivers 104 hp with ethanol and 101 hp with gasoline, in addition to a torque of up to 15.6 kgfm, ensuring good starts and accelerations.

The five-speed manual transmission is another highlight, with precise shifts and well-geared ratios. Even with satisfactory performance, its fuel consumption is competitive for the category:

  • Ethanol: 7.3 km/l in the city and 9.4 km/l on the highway.
  • Gasoline: 10.7 km/l in the city and 13.7 km/l on the highway.

Safety and Comfort Features of the Evidence Version

The Volkswagen Voyage Evidence 2015 offered dual front airbags, ABS brakes with EBD, rear parking sensors, headrests for all occupants, and an alarm.

For comfort, it included air conditioning, power steering, electric windows, locks and mirrors, onboard computer, and a sound system with Bluetooth and USB.

The finishing could include leather seats with the version name embroidered, in addition to 16-inch alloy wheels. Among the options were cruise control, rain and dusk sensors.

Price in the Used Market

According to the KBB Brasil platform, the average prices for the Volkswagen Voyage Evidence 2015 range between:

  • Dealership Price: R$ 37,216 to R$ 39,984
  • Private Price: R$ 33,458 to R$ 36,022
  • Trade-in Price: R$ 26,484 to R$ 29,837

Maintenance Costs and Affordable Parts

The Volkswagen Voyage is known for having competitive maintenance costs.

Parts like brake pads cost between R$ 80 and R$ 130, spark plugs between R$ 70 and R$ 110, and fuel pumps from R$ 250 to R$ 380.

This affordability attracts buyers looking for long-term savings.

Recurring Problems and Recalls

Among the most common complaints are defects in the ignition coil, leaks in the power steering system, and premature suspension wear.

Over the years, the Volkswagen Voyage has undergone recalls for airbag replacements, alternators, pivot nut replacements, and even repairs to the seatbelt latch.

Tenho um i-trend 2013 g6. Nunca me deu problemas. Esta com 115k vou precisar mexer na suspensão pois começou a fazer um barulho.
Obs. Ele tem rodas 17.. pneus 205/45. Já era de se esperar o desgaste da suspensão.. fora isso o carro é muito confiável e resistente.
