Construction Works of Angra 3 Have Resumed! With German Technology, Plant Will Generate 12 Million Megawatt-Hours Per Year!
A Eletronuclear reported that on Tuesday (15), at 3:36 PM, the Angra 2 nuclear power plant was disconnected from the National Interconnected System (SIN). The reason was the automatic shutdown of the turbogenerator set, in the non-nuclear part of the plant, caused by the activation of the ground fault protection of the main generator rotor.
The nuclear plant had resumed operations last Monday (14) after being shut down for four days due to the same issue. Eletronuclear professionals are already working to identify its cause and establish a timeline for the return of Angra 2 to the SIN.

China returned almost 20 Brazilian ships with soybeans, but now everything could change: the country that buys 80% of the grain is considering relaxing regulations after impurities held up shipments of thousands of tons and caused million-dollar losses.
The preparations for the resumption of concrete pouring began in February of this year with the signing of the contract between Eletronuclear and the Agis consortium, composed of Ferreira Guedes, Matricial, and ADtranz. Since then, the winning companies of the bidding have worked on preparing the construction site for the resumption of the project, which included setting up a concrete center on site.

The Generation of Angra 1, 2, and 3 Together Will Be Equivalent to 60% of the Energy Consumption of the State of Rio de Janeiro and 3% of Brazil!
The launch of the first concrete marked the beginning of the Critical Path Acceleration Plan for Angra 3, aimed at completing the civil construction of the main buildings of the plant. This includes the reactor building and other facilities related to nuclear safety.
In addition, a significant part of the electromechanical assembly is also planned, such as the closure of the containment, steel sphere located inside the reactor building, and the installation of important equipment, such as the spent fuel pool, polar bridge, and semi-gantry crane.
With German technology, Angra 3 will generate 12 million megawatt-hours per year, enough energy to supply the residential consumption of the entire Northern region and nearly all of the Central-Western region of Brazil. The generation of Angra 1, 2, and 3 together will be equivalent to 60% of the energy consumption of the state of Rio de Janeiro and 3% of the country.
