The Thermal Power Plant of Mato Grosso do Sul Will Operate Under Independent Power Production Regime Under a 35-Year Grant Granted by Aneel
It was published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (24) the authorization from Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency), signed by the agency’s director André Pepitone da Nóbrega, for the installation and operation of the Laguna Thermal Power Plant, in the municipality of Batayporã, located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The request from Laguna Alcohol and Sugar Ltd. was made in November 2019 and the authorization published yesterday (08/24). According to the publication, the plant will operate under the independent electricity production regime, starting within a period of 36 months.

Thermal Power Plant in Rio Grande do Sul Is Key to Attracting GWM
With a grant plan of 35 years, the plant will have an installed capacity of 21,200 kW and will feature 3 generating units, in addition to a declared net capacity of 15,000 kW. The unit in Mato Grosso do Sul will generate energy through the burning of sugarcane bagasse.
A thermal power plant is an industrial facility used for generating electricity, and Aneel, an agency under special regime linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, has the function of regulating the generation (production), transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electric energy.
Aneel Approved Commercial Operation of Generating Unit in Thermal Power Plant Located in the State of Goiás
Aneel has released the commercial operation of the generating tower UG3 of the Lago Azul thermal power plant. The measure includes 3 MW of installed capacity of the enterprise, located in the city of Ipameri (GO).
The thermal power plant in Ipameri, a Brazilian municipality in the interior of the state of Goiás, located between the Corumbá and São Marcos rivers, is operated by Grupo Lasa Lago Azul S.A., specialized in soy and alcohol. Learn more here.
