Initiative from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters, and Human Sciences (FFLCH) Offers Opportunities in Areas Such as Philosophy, Sociology, Literature, and AI, with Certification for Graduates.
According to an article published by the Catraca Livre portal, the University of São Paulo (USP) has an excellent opportunity for those seeking qualification. The USP offers more than 7,000 spots in free courses, totaling 92 training options with certification, all available 100% online through the Winter Courses of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters, and Human Sciences (FFLCH).
The initiative, which will have classes starting from July 31, is aimed at anyone interested in deepening their knowledge in the field of humanities. The courses cover current topics and ongoing research at FFLCH, in partnership with renowned institutions such as Sebrae and IFRS.
How to Enroll in USP’s Free Courses?

The process to access the courses is simple, but it requires attention to deadlines. Enrollment is divided into six blocks, starting from July 21, and must be done exclusively through the Apolo System of USP.

Who Can Participate and How Does Certification Work?

The initiative is quite democratic. To compete for one of the spots, you must be 18 years or older. It is not necessary to be a student at USP or hold a higher education degree for most courses.
One of the major attractions is the certification. Participants who achieve a minimum of 75% attendance in classes will be entitled to a course completion certificate issued by USP. This document can be used to validate complementary hours in colleges and enhance your resume in selection processes.
What Do the Data Show About the Most Sought-After Courses?
Although the winter courses of 2025 are still opening for enrollment, data from previous editions and the Saber Virtual platform from CIEE (which partners with USP) indicate a strong demand for topics that combine professional development and digital tools.
In recent months, on partner platforms, the most accessed courses were:
- The Art of Overcoming
- Organize Your Time
- Spreadsheets in Excel
- Documents in Word
This trend shows young people’s search for practical skills that can be immediately applied in the job market, something that many of USP’s new courses also aim to offer.
