What Is A 6th Generation Drillship?

It is a state-of-the-art semi-submersible unit equipped with a twin RamRig system and a dynamic positioning system (DP3). The MODU consists of two pontoons and four columns connected to the upper hull (deckbox). The pontoons are connected with four cross-braces fixed at the bottom of the columns. The upper hull (deckbox) accommodates the drilling package and general utilities and is equipped with a permanent accommodation module for at least 200 people.
