Petrobras announced that it has completed the total sale of its interests in the gas production fields of Peroá and Cangoá, as well as concession BM-ES-21 (Discovery Assessment Plan for Malombe), in the Espírito Santo Basin, both to 3R Petroleum, a gas producer, on Tuesday, 2.
The transaction was completed with an upfront payment of US$ 8.07 million from 3R Petroleum to Petrobras, already accounting for the adjustments provided in the contract.
The amount received on Tuesday, 02, is added to the total of US$ 5 million designated for Petrobras at the signing of the purchase and sale contract made together with 3R Petroleum.

In addition to this amount, Petrobras is also expected to receive up to US$ 42.5 million in contingent payments, dependent on the successive quotes of Brent as well as the development of the assets. The total value of the operation is US$ 55 million.
According to Petrobras, the operation with 3R Petroleum is aligned with the strategy of portfolio management and also with the improvement of Petrobras’s capital allocation, aiming for value maximization and greater returns to society.
“Petrobras continues to concentrate its resources in deep and ultra-deep water assets, where it has demonstrated a significant competitive advantage over the years,” the oil company states.
3R Petroleum confirmed the completion of the operation with Petrobras in a relevant fact sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). According to the information provided, the asset’s platform will now be named 3R – 1, marking the beginning of 3R Petroleum’s offshore gas operations.
“The Peroá Hub represents a significant increase in 3R’s gas production, strengthening the company’s position as an independent player in the industry, with a diversified portfolio in oil and gas production and national representativity by taking on operations in another producing state,” the oil company states in the document sent.

Prior to the sale to 3R Petroleum, Petrobras owned 100% of the interests in the Peroá and Cangoá fields, which are located in shallow waters and have an average production from January to June 2022 of about 572,000 m3 per day of non-associated gas, as well as 100% ownership of the exploration block BM-ES-21, located in deep waters, where the Malombe discovery is located.
3R Petroleum’s Oil and Gas Production Reaches 11,800 Barrels Per Day in June
3R Petroleum’s oil and gas production reached 11,800 barrels produced per day in June. Compared to the same period last year, the oil and gas production of the oil company experienced a growth of 33.6%, just in the second half of this year.
The June production figures for 3R Petroleum were released by the oil company itself. Thus, it was possible to observe that the daily average of equivalent barrels produced by the oil company in June was 11,800, and in the second quarter, the production averaged 12,200 barrels per day.
3R Petroleum carries out its productive actions in five different areas, namely: Macau, Areia Branca, Rio Ventura, Recôncavo, and Polo Pescada. The Polo Pescada belongs to Petrobras, with 3R Petroleum holding only 35% of the participation.
