ANAC Suspends All Operations of Voepass After Serious Security Failures! The Company, Already Involved in a Tragic Accident, Now Faces Total Suspension of Its Flights! What Happens to Passengers? See the Details of This Decision That Shakes the Aviation Sector in Brazil!
The Brazilian aviation sector faces yet another turbulent chapter with the decision of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to suspend the operations of Voepass Linhas Aéreas, prohibiting the company from operating in the country until further notice.
The measure, announced on Tuesday (11), created a significant impact in the sector and directly affected passengers with scheduled flights.
The decision by ANAC was made as a precaution and will remain in effect until the company proves the correction of various irregularities found in its management system.

With 1,200 tons suspended, the Japan mega-structure in a grid shape with a floating sphere from Fuji TV features two 25-story towers connected by elevated walkways, titanium panels, and impresses the world with its ability to reduce wind impact.
According to the agency, the identified failures compromise the required standards of air safety, justifying the immediate suspension.
Reasons for the Suspension
Voepass, previously known as Passaredo Transportes Aéreos and incorporated into Map Linhas Aéreas, currently operates with six aircraft and serves 15 locations in commercial flights, in addition to two charter operations.
Despite the company’s relevance in the sector, ANAC justified the suspension due to the company’s inability to solve problems detected during audits.
In the official statement, the regulatory agency emphasized that the decision is related not only to the non-compliance with regulations, but also to the recurrence of failures that had been previously identified and corrected.
“Voepass failed to meet operational safety requirements, and given the severity of the inconsistencies, the suspension was inevitable,” stated ANAC.
The situation worsened after an audit conducted at the end of February 2025, when a degradation in the company’s management system was identified.
This analysis demonstrated that the company failed to maintain the required standards and did not implement the necessary improvements to avoid operational risks.
The Accident That Intensified Oversight
The rigorous oversight on Voepass intensified after the tragic accident that occurred on August 9, 2024. At that time, a company plane crashed in Vinhedo (SP), resulting in the deaths of 62 people.
Since then, ANAC has implemented an assisted supervision system, in which its officials closely monitored the operations and maintenance procedures of the company.
In the following months, the agency began to demand stricter measures from Voepass, such as reducing the air network, increasing the time aircraft spend on the ground for maintenance, and changes in the company’s management.
However, even with these demands, the company did not demonstrate the capacity to correct the pointed irregularities.
According to the agency, Voepass’s inability to adequately respond to the detected issues resulted in a “breach of trust.”
The audits revealed that the company not only failed to comply with the imposed rules but also repeated the previously corrected failures, further compromising its credibility.
What Happens to Affected Passengers?
The suspension of Voepass’s operations caught many passengers by surprise, leaving various people with purchased tickets not knowing how to proceed.
ANAC advised passengers to contact the company directly or the travel agency responsible for issuing the ticket to request a refund or rebooking on flights of other companies.
If the company does not offer a solution, consumers can contact consumer protection agencies, such as Procon, and even file lawsuits to guarantee their rights.
Repercussions in the Aviation Sector
The decision by ANAC had a strong impact on the Brazilian aviation sector. The Ministry of Ports and Airports supported the measure, emphasizing that the suspension aims to ensure that the company strengthens its governance and improves operational safety.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted that it has been monitoring Voepass’s situation for months and believes ANAC’s action is necessary to protect passengers and avoid greater risks.
“Civil aviation safety is a priority. No company can operate if it does not ensure safe conditions for its passengers,” stated the ministry.
Future of Voepass
To resume its operations, Voepass will need to implement a plan of corrective actions and demonstrate to ANAC that it is capable of operating safely.
This means the company will have to reorganize its internal structure, improve its maintenance processes, and adopt a more efficient management to ensure the regularization of its activities.
However, the resumption of activities is still uncertain, as it will depend on the company’s ability to meet the standards required by ANAC.
The suspension of Voepass’s operations reflects the rigor of regulatory bodies in maintaining safety standards in Brazilian civil aviation.
The decision, although drastic, aims to protect passengers and ensure that only qualified companies operate in the sector.
Now it remains to wait for developments and see if the company will be able to reverse its situation to return to flying in the skies of Brazil.
