Vale’s national selection brings together job openings in six states, covering different levels of education and targeting strategic areas such as maintenance, operation, technology, and administration, in a digital process that expands the reach of opportunities and attracts candidates of varied profiles.

Vale maintains a new selection process with opportunities for candidates with high school, technical, and higher education levels, in roles related to operation, maintenance, administration, and technology.

The announcement of job openings indicates around 400 immediate hires in units located in Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Maranhão, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo, with salaries that can reach R$ 10,000, depending on the position.

In Espírito Santo, the concentration of opportunities mainly occurs in Serra and Vitória, strategic cities for the company’s operational and logistical structure.

At the same time, the national distribution of job openings follows the presence of the mining company in hubs where the company combines industrial, administrative, and support activities, which broadens the selection’s reach for different professional profiles.

Job openings at Vale for maintenance, operation, and administrative areas

The selection includes positions aimed at the daily functioning of the plants and the technical support of operations, with space for professionals at the beginning of their careers as well as for workers with more consolidated experience.

Among the announced roles are administrative assistant, electrician, welder, mechanic, lubricator, equipment and installation operator, maintenance technician, maintenance inspector, and occupational safety technician.

There are also opportunities for positions that require technical or higher education, such as engineer, electro-electronics technician, mechanical maintenance operator, executive secretary, and analysts in various areas.

This list includes vacancies for human resources, information technology, business, internal controls, supplies, and occupational safety, as well as leadership positions, such as operations manager and yard and terminal controller.

This focus shows that the company seeks to strengthen very different fronts within its structure, without concentrating the selection only in a specific segment of the business.

While part of the vacancies directly serves the industrial routine and asset conservation, another portion targets corporate support, management, planning, and areas of support considered strategic for operations.

Vale itself states on its careers page that it offers opportunities for various areas and professional goals, in a structure that seeks to combine operational excellence with innovation.

In practice, this helps explain why a single selection process includes such distinct roles, ranging from maintenance and operation to technology, management, and administrative activities distributed across various company units.

Distribution of opportunities varies according to the company’s units

Another relevant point is that the hiring needs change according to each unit, which directly affects the distribution of opportunities by state and by function.

For this reason, the presence of a position in a particular city does not necessarily mean the same offer in another location, even though all are part of the same national recruitment movement.

The company also states that it maintains policies focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, emphasizing respect, listening, and zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment.

In its institutional communication, Vale says it values diverse talents and informs that it seeks a more diverse and inclusive environment, in addition to maintaining specific initiatives for gender, ethnic-racial equity, the LGBTI+ population, and people with disabilities.

On the diversity page, the mining company also records goals and indicators related to increasing representation in its workforce and in leadership positions.

The institutional content informs, for example, that the goal of doubling the representation of women in the workforce was achieved in 2024, in addition to noting that more than 5.5% of the workforce is made up of professionals with disabilities.

This context helps to understand the selection profile adopted by the company, which combines technical requirements with adherence to the organizational culture declared by the company.

Still, the central guidance for those who intend to apply for a position remains to carefully observe the prerequisites of each announcement, as education, experience, specific training, and work location vary according to the open position.

Selection process includes high school, technical, and higher education levels

The open opportunities show a simultaneous search for operational, technical, and specialized labor, something common in companies with a broad structure and presence in several states.

Instead of a recruitment concentrated on a single profile, the current selection encompasses roles that support everything from field routines to administrative and analytical tasks related to the company’s functioning.

In this scenario, candidates with a high school education may find vacancies related to administrative support and operational activities, while professionals with technical training appear as a target audience in maintenance, safety, and electro-electronics areas.

The higher education level is present in engineering, management, and analysis roles, reinforcing the breadth of the selection process announced for this round of hiring.

How to apply for job openings

Applications must be made through the official Vale careers platform, an environment where the company centralizes the publication of job openings and the receipt of resumes.

On the portal, interested individuals can consult the available announcements, check requirements, filter opportunities by location and area of activity, and also track the progress of the selection process digitally.

The company also informs on its careers page that it uses artificial intelligence to suggest compatible job openings based on the registered professional profile, although it highlights that the tool is still in the learning phase.

As a result, the search and application process remains 100% online, and the recommendation for candidates is to keep their resumes updated and frequently check for the opening or closing of new opportunities in the system.
