The Forecast Is That Up to 11 Thousand Jobs Will Be Created for the Construction of Klabin’s Industrial Unit in Ortigueira, Paraná’s Campos Gerais Region
The Paraná Worker Agencies will be responsible for mediating part of the job openings that are expected to be created. The hiring will preferably be for local residents. “It’s a grand project, the largest private investment in South America at this time and the largest in Paraná’s history, and it deserves the full attention of our government,” said Governor Ratinho Junior.
The jobs will be opened through the Puma II Project, which includes the construction of two paper machines with integrated pulp production, receiving investments of R$ 9.1 billion. It is estimated that the new plant will begin production in 2021. Most job openings will be available starting in the second half of 2019.

In the agreement with Klabin, the priority is to hire local labor. According to Eder Colaço, director of the Department of Labor of the Secretariat of Justice, Family and Labor, the job openings will be made available to Worker Agencies throughout the State to enhance and make more effective the generation of jobs and income in Paraná.
The action meets the determination of the Secretary of Justice, Family and Labor, Ney Leprevost, for a proactive approach to securing job openings to be mediated by the State’s Worker Agencies.
The technicians from the State Department of Labor have already held, since the beginning of the administration, meetings with various companies in several municipalities with the aim of increasing the supply of job openings as per the Governor’s guidance.
