Models Like Audi A4, Q3, and A3 Lost Over 60% of Their Value and Now Cost Less Than a Honda Civic. Price Drop Turned These Luxury Cars into Real Bargains in the Market.

For years, Audi cars were symbols of status, technology, and performance. Models like the A3, A4, and Q3 dominated the premium sedan and SUV market in Brazil, attracting executives and enthusiasts of the German brand. However, in 2025, the scenario changed completely: according to the FIPE Table and platforms like Webmotors, OLX, and KBB Brazil, various luxury Audis dropped more than 60% in value and are now sold for less than a brand-new Honda Civic.

The phenomenon is explained by the high maintenance costs, the arrival of new electrified generations, and the saturation of used premium vehicles in the market. Even so, for those who understand cars, these drops represent unique opportunities to drive an Audi for the price of a mid-sized sedan.

Below are three real examples of models that plummeted in value and became true “luxury bargains”.

1. Audi A4 2.0 TFSI 2017, from R$ 245 thousand to R$ 95 thousand

The A4 has always been one of the most desired sedans in the premium segment. In 2017, the 2.0 TFSI Ambition model cost R$ 245 thousand, with 190 hp and a seven-speed S-Tronic transmission.

Today, according to the FIPE of October 2025, the same car can be found for R$ 90 thousand to R$ 100 thousand, a depreciation of about 60%.

Despite maintaining the refinement and driving experience typical of Audi, the high maintenance costs and competition from hybrid sedans, such as Toyota Corolla Hybrid and Honda Civic e:HEV, have driven down its price. Even so, it is a sedan that offers luxury comfort and sporty performance for less than the price of a new mid-sized car.

2. Audi Q3 1.4 TFSI 2016 — from R$ 210 thousand to R$ 85 thousand

The Q3 was Audi’s best-selling premium SUV in Brazil for years. In 2016, the 1.4 TFSI version cost R$ 210 thousand, with a 150 hp turbo engine and impeccable finish.

Today, the same car is advertised for R$ 80 thousand to R$ 90 thousand, according to KBB Brazil, which represents a drop of 57% from the original value.

Even with its reputation for reliability and good performance, the rise of hybrid SUVs and the emergence of more technological options like the Q3 Sportback 2025 have made older models lose relevance. For those looking for a premium SUV at hatchback prices, it is one of the safest options in the used market.

3. Audi A3 Sedan 1.8 TFSI 2018 — from R$ 190 thousand to R$ 75 thousand

The A3 Sedan was one of Audi’s greatest successes in Brazil, offering the charm of a German car with compact dimensions and refined mechanics. In 2018, the automatic 1.8 TFSI version cost R$ 190 thousand at dealerships.
Today, the same model appears in the tables for R$ 70 thousand to R$ 80 thousand, a depreciation of over 58%.

With a 180 hp turbo engine and a dual-clutch transmission, it still delivers above-average performance, reaching 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. However, the maintenance and parts costs, especially for the transmission, have led many owners to sell, which explains the very accessible price.

Why Did Audi Cars Depreciate So Much?

Industry experts cite three main reasons:

  • High maintenance costs and imported parts, which scare off new buyers;
  • Competition from hybrid and electric models, which reduced interest in premium combustion cars;
  • High supply in the used market, as many corporate and fleet models have been replaced in recent years.

As a result, cars that were once unattainable now cost the same as a brand-new Civic or a slightly used Corolla.

A Disguised Opportunity of Depreciation

Although the price drop may scare some, it has opened up possibilities for those who have always wanted an Audi. A well-cared-for used A4 or Q3 still offers performance, finish, and technology that few modern mid-sized sedans can match.

According to automotive consultant Marcelo Thomé from KBB Brazil, “it is possible to buy an Audi that was R$ 250 thousand for less than R$ 100 thousand, as long as the maintenance history is proven. It’s luxury that has become accessible.”

In times of 1.0 SUVs exceeding R$ 140 thousand, owning a fully equipped Audi for the price of a popular car has become a reality and one of the best opportunities for those who understand value, not just price.
